Tikka T1X in KRG Bravo chassis (and how to do it)

Is it a drop in fit???

All the forums that I’ve been keeping up on suggest that the mag doesn’t fit or interferes with the trigger guard. Did you have to do any modifications? If not, I’ll be ordering my third Bravo.

Not seeing a mag. My understanding was the bottom plate was an issue for the rim fire mag system and the krg.

Also curious if the bipod is connected to a spigot or just setup for show? If a spigot that mimicked trg then I have to ask where I can get one for the bravo chassis?

Had to drill and mill stock and trigger guard, took couple hours. One extra pin had to be turned on lathe. Repainted trigger guard in ceracoat. TRG bipod fits as is in any KRG chassis. EPOXY7 Mag is quite visible in front of trigger guard.
ITS NOT A DROP IN STOCK!!!

That's a project right there. I couldn't see the mag on my iphone. But yes I see it now on my computer.

"TRG bipod fits as in any KRG chassis". Don't you need a spigot for it?

Drilled 3mm hole through chassis and hand guard attached. Turned pin on lathe. Then remove screw from hand guard and mill chassis and guard.

I don’t have a lathe. What are the odds I could accomplish this with a dremel and a drill press?

Yes you can do it with dremel and drill press. I wish I didn’t assemble everything with epoxy and was taking pictures in progress. Give me some time will post pictures and directions how to do it.

Ok, here is quick guide how to do it.
Tools:
Drill press (you really need one)
Metal lath (optional)
Dremel, files, sand paper, masking tape
Paint
Orange cat
Bottle of "Russian Standard" vodka

Step one:

Remove buttstock and hand guard. Drill 3 mm or 1/8 hole center of trigger guard slot and 6 mm or 1/4 inch from bottom of rail. Trigger guard is still connected by screw to rail. You really need drill press, you will hit that steel screw while drilling and hole may wonder of.

If you don't have lathe to turn pin, cut off shank from the same drill bit and use it as a pin. It becomes trigger guard front support.

Step two:
Now cut the web. Has to be 13 mm wide to fit plastic mag housing. Do it under supervision from orange cat.

Step three:
Now you need to remove about 3 mm from top to allow screw clearance and a lot for mag clearance. I was cutting a bit, putting all together and so on. Picture for reference what you have to cut.

Step four:
Repaint your trigger guard, let it dry. Heat gun works best. Assemble it all together. Let cat inspect and approve it.

Step five:
Carefully pack bottle of vodka and ship it to my home address :)

Right on! When my T1X arrives (maybe tomorrow - fingers crossed) I’ll grab one of my Bravo and check it out!

I’ve actually emailed KRG a few times about the T1X and they seem to have a good track record listening to customer suggestions. Hopefully they come up with something.
