Scale for weighing game

What scale do you use to weigh your game animals, if you do? I’m currently looking at the cabelas digital 880 lb one, overkill, yes, but could also use it when butchering pigs and steers too. About $99 I think... or should I look elsewhere?

I have used an agricultural scale meant for weighing hogs before market. At 200 kg capacity it would weigh a whole deer but only parts of an elk or moose. So we'd have to split a big animal and weigh the parts. In the end we just quit using it, not worth the trouble.

I bought mine from cabelas. Its a gauge type scale. Works well. Holds zero well. I test it with workout weights

We have one from Cabelas also. 300 lb model. I can't guarantee it's accuracy, but we use it for interest sake and not commercially.

I have had one of those for 10 or 12 years now. It works well and I can weigh up to a side of beef on it.

I know mine goes well above 300lbs. Id like to say 550lbs i think. Ive weighed a bear that was 370lbs on it

Ok thanks. I will have to look at the dial one also. I don’t need one for commercial purposes, mostly to satisfy my curiosity but at the same time I want it to be relatively accurate.
