New Glock 48 coming in January?

A single stack full size 9mm seems counterintuitive to the reason for a modern full size 9mm. (Yes, I know this is Canada!)

However, their bean counters must know what they’re doing. Have to say, Glocks are now looking like 2x4s that’s gone through workworking class.

Great gun for concealed carry in places that permit it. With a much slimmer profile, it'll print far less than a 19. And of course since every Canadian Glock is a single stack, this one is a much more logical choice in this country. I'm interested.

It will print similarly to a custom round butt 1911 Commander. The few mms in girth won't make much difference. It's the length of the grip that matters. But I agree, the matter is moot in Kanada.

I think it would make a difference in terms of appendix carry or six o'clock carry. It really depends, but yeah, you nailed it with the Commander 1911 comparison.

Mainly, to me this looks like competition for the SD9VE. Also I see it doesn't have ambi slide stops, so it might be based on the Gen 3, making it sale-legal in California.

It's a "single" stack, but the grip width seems to be only 4mm thinner than Glock 19 Gen4 (28mm vs. 32mm), though Gen5 is 34mm in grip width (still 32mm in width if not counting the flared magwell). G48 slide width is only 3.5mm thinner (22mm vs. 25.5mm) compared to both G19 Gen4 and Gen5.

4mm is significant for grip circumference as is the slide width and covers the range of backstrap options in the gen4 guns (smallest to largest). The grip measurements are very similar to a g43 and slide is the same width. There is a very different feel between a 26 and a 43, so I imagine there will be a similar feel between a 19 and 48. I look forward to handling one soon to find out.

Those differences are actually substantial particularly over the circumference of the grip

What they said! :agree:

Are they? :confused::confused::confused:

Never have an issue with the look of the glocks, I just hope the production guns have slides with a black finish.

Exactly! I know some like purty guns, I prefer utilty guns that work. Now if u prefer a ###y blaster and that floats yer boat good on ya.I have different parameters but thats ok

Yup, Glocks feel really well built in person
I think pistols like the M&P look kinda cheap in pics but feel pretty solid when handling them
Also don't mind the look of Glocks. I DO like pretty guns, but something can be said about a Glock's utilitarian aesthetic, and the peace of mind it will go bang every time which ties in with the atheistic
