That's a lovely collection you have there. Are there any sources for these kind of things in Canada?
I have one brass shell casing about 17" high and 3, 5/8" dia. Would love to find a shell to fit it but will probably whip one up on my lathe after a little more lathe practice.
I have no idea what it was fired out of. I bought it from another CGN'r about 5 years ago. Think I'll get a piece of aluminum and chuck it in my lathe and make a fake projectile to make it look similar to one of yours.
Just for show in my gunroom.
back in 1992 just when the Russians were supposed to be pulling out of Lithuania I was over with my ex wife (she's Lithuanian) there was a small village where she grew up called Upine(sp) there was an abandoned hose nobody lived in since the war it was not in too bad shape it was full of very nice old furniture and when I went upstairs into the attic it was full of German equipment just left there ..I found some cool small artillery shells in a small metal cage they are 76 mm 3 per metal cage I have found pics on the net it was a small artillery piece used by the Germans ..sorry I cant post pics but they are pretty cool I wish I had grabbed more stuff as about 5 years later my ex went back and checked it out again for me and everything was gone ...prolly on ebay lol
