Sig 226 vs 320

The 320 is comparable to the 226 e2 imo with their standard grip. I believe bigger and smaller grips exist though.

^ What he said.

The 320 has the advantage of being able to swap grip modules out. The "standard" is compatible to the 226. You can go 1 size up or 1 size down by buying another module and swapping out the fire control unit (FCU), which is legally and technically "the gun", and has the serial number on it.

The grip modules are ~ $60 in Canada, IIRC, and you can get them in Black or FDE

I handled both a 320rx and a 226rx before buying the 226. As i recall size was about the same but in terms of grip shape and feel the 226 fit my hand better.

I'va also handled both the 226 (also 229) and 320.

I'd be hard pressed to easily compare the guns since they're so different on how they handle.

That being said, like other stated, I think that the medium grip is close to the bulkiness of the 226 grips, the medium 320 grip i feel is a tad smaller in circumference. .

You can just purchase a small and/or large grip for 35$ though :)

Top is a 320 FS medium grip, 229 has hogue grips (i dont have a pic with the normal ones), bottom is 320 compact/medium grip. Im looking for my comparison shot for the 226/9 with normal grips and the various 320's i have.

Edit: Don't forget about the possibility of installing an x-frame grip also. If you can handle a 320 x5 in a store and like it, order the FS grip from brownells, it's under 100$, comes with the magwell adapter and weight. :)

This is an x-carry 'medium' grip

Come to think of it, the x-grip might be close in profile/size than the normal 320 medium one... mmm

I don't know where you are, but if you want to try out a nice variety of grips for the 320 platform, I can ship a couple... can't be more than 20$ roundtrip for mailing the stuff if you want to pay for shipping...

More grips (compact large with a compact magazine, compact medium with a full size magazine and x-grip, subcompact):

Compact medium with the full size mag and x-grip (I really like how this feels in hand):

Even the biggest P320 / P250 frame still feels barely not big enough for my hands. I have to add a sleeve for my P250 where as P226 non-E2 grip feels just right for me. So yeah E2 226 kinda similar to P320 but I like the contour of the P320 grip much better myself

Here are a few comparison pictures between my P226 Legion (which has a grip shape more or less like the normal P226 grip), my P320 with small grip frame, and the medium P320 frame.

Here they are stacked (P226 on the bottom, then P320 medium, then P320 small.

Here's the P226 compared with the medium P320 frame.

I LOVE my Sig 226 r Enhanced Elite with the SRT trigger from factory... I did change the main hammer spring from a 21 pound to a 16 pound wolff spring and it dropped the double action pull from 11 ish pounds to 5.5 ish.. it loves a little heavier ammo.. i have tried a Romeo 320,, but i just don't like striker guns.. i'll take a hammer gun any day!

The 320 xfive grip won me over. The sig 226 e2 is a mess of a grip. Steer clear. Original 2 pieces are good to go. Also strikers are awesome. Less annoying things to hang up on holsters.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the E2 grip is a mess and to steer clear from it".

Both are just as effective and it comes down to hand size (E2 being a little smaller than the two-piece grip).

Both my P226 Combat and my P227 Enhanced with original grips are perfect for both my hands ( i shoot ambidextrual ).
