Hey All,

Relatively new to firearms but and very interested in getting started with reloading. Was wondering if anyone had any tips or information on getting started.

I have dedicated space to pursue this hobby and was wondering if you guys could recommend some equipment to get started and perhaps some good books on reloading.

Any information is helpful.

Thanks very much.

Buy a RCBS rock chucker supreme kit, it comes with a reloading manual.
A set of callipers, I used the CT digital set for a few years, without issue.
You’ll need something to trim and clean your brass.
A trickler for more accurate powder drops.
Dies and shell holders for the calibers you’re loading.
You can buy cheap stuff now, but if you get into it, you’re going to upgrade some of the gear.
You tube and CGN are your friends, for instruction and advice.

Hey DF,

PM me your email.
I got few PDF manuals that I can share with you.

Start with ABCS of Reloading but most of it can be found on youtube. Once you find a video you like, make sure you download it.

Youtube monkeys have started removing reloading and casting videos.

Cheers,

Don't reload if:

You have been drinking (even one drink).
Have any distractions (kids screaming, wife yelling etc).
On any pain medications (including pot).
You are tired or sleepy.

Reloading requires total concentration to be safe and to yield good consistent results.

Check out the EE and gunshows for dies, and other bits and pieces that you will need. Canadian Tire and Princess Auto have calipers on sale usually every couple of months, thats another item you will have to have.

I bought a lee 50th aniversary kit many years ago and I am still very happy with it. The book that came with the kits was also very good. If you search my previous posts you will find many threads on this subject.

Great advice it's not a casual game

Thanks for the tip on the manuals Greenbob, I already have a couple, but the ABC,s of Reloading looks like an interesting book. It seems to cover a lot of detail in why things are made and done the way they are.

Yeah... a really good book! It will answer all of your questions and then some!
