Yeah, I see Freedom Ventures still has the Trojan in stock but I'm not sure I see the value proposition at $2250 vs when they were $1450 or less a couple of years ago.

It's certainly has hurt sales in Canada, just glad I got one or two when they were reasonably priced..

My choices are simple. Reliable, low cost: Ruger SR1911. Higher end, hand-fitted: Dan Wesson Specialist. I wouldn't waste money on anything beyond the latter.

I have an STI Trojan ans yes it was a great gun $1200.00. Now? Not a chance. I have a Kimber in .45 ACP and it has been flawless, right in your budget too.
