What will Brownells send across the border?

You can filter their products to show what they can ship internationally. You can also send their international department an email with the part numbers and they will tell you. They usually respond quickly.
 
LOTS of googling and searching this forum does not seem to be finding me a definitive answer. Made an order from Brownells yesterday, and received an email from "Sandy" today. The email stated that I require "documentation" and it had a declaration attached. Basically it asks that I sign an acknowledgment of the items being under control of the US, one or more of their "departments", and I "may" need approval, and I may need "may" be a violation. What if I wish to purchase firearms parts from the states, have them shipped to my PO Box across the line, does not include actual firearms, barrels, receivers etc, but does include a trigger, gas block, and grip, is worth more than $100 USD but less than $500 USD? Do I need an export permit from the states? If I do need a permit, where do I get it??? How much does it cost? Is it just easier to have Brownells ship directly to my home? I know I don't need an import permit from Canada.
 
It's MUCH simpler to order from Brownells and fill out whatever they need for documentation (over 100$ and under 500$ PER ORDER).

Just fill out the PDF and state that its for your personal use, in Canada, and won't be exported out (which should all be true)

Legally, you can't just go fetch most of firearm parts in the US and export them from the US. It's doable as a private person, but it will take time, $ and lots of forms.
 
Legally , you cant bring them across the boarder PERIOD. Why waste gas $ to go get parts when its only 5$ more and it gets to your house?

Tax excluded, because its a hit and miss with cbsa at postal. *knock on wood* i had a 700$ car parts order went thru cbsa with no tax or duties, bought a pair of shoes on adidas US for 60$ USD., and i get slap for 30$ taxes and duties.

What i dont get with people is, they wont stroke a pen for the EUC in less than 30 seconds to have it ship directly to your house, but are willing to drive hours to go across the board to get their gun parts illegally!??? Where is the logic?

Thank you for the feedback. While I had thought I had done my due diligence in regards to the legalities, I guess my research was still inadequate. End of the day, anything firearms related cannot be exported by an individual, but can be exported by a business, some of those items need extensive paperwork and fees, most need significantly less with a signature. Thank you as well. In regards to the travelling and the required signature, I usually kill a few birds with one stone when I drive the 30 minutes down to the PO box, and I have no issue with signing a document. The added bonus to cross border is the duty and taxes. I think the last time I was asked to step inside at the border was 5 plus years ago on a $1000 plus purchase. While I don't do it on a regular basis, there have been plenty of 2 and $300 dollar trips and packages in that time.
 
Not sure if it is allowed to be said but who would you use as a third party importer? I did a quick google search and it brought up two companies but they also had their own stores.

You can talk with them directly just ask the agent to transfer the call
 
I always do my orders over the phone and the first words out of my mouth are “ I’m Canadian” it really helps. As for ordering over the limit, I was told to separate the order and place the second order several days later as the computer has the habit of putting the 2 together
 
If you have any questions just ask them.
They are pretty good about it.
If they ask you to fill in an End User Certificate, don't let that stop you.
they are simple to fill out.

If you are not a registered exporter with the US Dept of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls this is 100% illegal - it violates US export law.

Bringing firearms parts is NOT like bringing a pair of Nike shoes over the border - bringing firearms and firearms parts over the US border fall under the same laws and penalties as exporting F-16 fighter jet radars and nuclear weapons technology.

Then, on August 10, Patel – a NEXUS pass holder – entered the United States at the Whirlpool Bridge Port of Entry in Niagara Falls, New York, and told a Customs and Border Protection officer that he was entering the United States to shop at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. Instead, however, Patel went straight to the postal address in Niagara Falls, New York, and retrieved the package containing the AR-15 upper receiver. He was immediately arrested.

Patel made his initial appearance today in U.S. District Court, before the Honorable Hugh B. Scott, and was released on a $5,000 cash bond. His next court date is scheduled for August 30, 2013 also before Magistrate Judge Scott.

The criminal complaint is the result of an investigation on the part of the United States Homeland Security Investigations under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James Spero.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Thats what i do, i add all the stuff that i want and Sandy will always come back to me and say this and this can't be exported, this and this needs 250$ permit.

They can't and won't just charge you $250usd
