Getting Ready for some Ammo testing

If you drop in to see them, you could probably buy by the box. Best bet is to phone them. Excellent folks to deal with.

Hirsch Precision is another great place to deal with too, an hour further than Truro but they are great to deal with, they sell ammo by the box/brick as well

In the process of ordering some from Hirsh. I travel to Halifax quite often for work so I will have to visit both Hirsh and Mystic on my way down.

The result are in:

1. I need more practice (at 50m) , Im ok at 30m.

2. Eley Target and Match are best so far.

3. CCI Subsonic are starting to look like the best bet for training

fljp2002....I envy guys like you who have the patience/time to record detail results of ammo testing and then post the info for the rest of us to learn from:cheers:

I applaud your perseverance!
Keep in mind that .22lr ammo does not perform at its best in colder temperatures.
A few companies produce specific ammo to be shot in the cold(Lapua Polar,Eley Biathalon etc.)
I think you will get even better groups once it warms up, good luck!

An electric hand warmer with a battery pack keeps the ammo warm for about 3 hours.
Take it out 5 rounds at a time. Load your magazines and take them out of the box as needed.
Another solution is to keep the boxes of ammo in your shirt pocket and inside your vest.
This works for me at our 100 meter rimfire events when shooting 60 rounds for score in 30 minutes . . . doesn't have enough time to cool.

I pit a bit of that through my cz along side mini mags and standard, and it did perform quite well. I need to do some more testing though as I only had a little but of susonic at the time.

Ya it does better than SV for me by quite a bit so I don't get it when everyone seems to recommend SV, my 6 bricks and various 100packs must have all been made on Monday am or fri pm?!?!lol u guys can all by it and leave the Subs for me!

OP - SK std and match are good to check too, I found center X was not great in the CZ but it sure turned a couple of others here into shooters.
A lot of this testing depends on weather conditions and how much coffee u drank that day. Sometimes it works and other times quit and come back another day.
