After taking apart a buddies blr we have found that the sear spring is in pretty bad shape. It fell out on it's own after removing the lever and is all squished and doesn't want to stay in place properly. Found the part listed on a couple of US sites but they do not offer international shipping. Looking for suggestions as to who may have in stock/ be able to get one in canada

Guntech has an article in Gunsmithing kinks that greatly simplifies the timing of the rack and pinion on reassembly which is the part of the process that makes these rifles a b!*** to work on.

can I get some more info on this please.....have a BLR I would love to do some trigger work on...

Thanks for the quick responses, I didn't do any reading about this firearm before tearing it down, it seems pretty involved but I'm not afraid of a challenge

I got a nice pre 81 in 308 two years ago, & wanted to tear it down like i do to most guns. After researching the reassembly i decided to clean it all in place. The big problem is the odd number of teeth on the two sides of the gear & no timing marks for reference. If you could put some type of marks on it before teardown you would at least have a starting point ,but you are already past that. There is an article noted above by a guy who got his back together, but it does sound very involved.

Be nice to know if the triggers on these rifles can be tuned up to make them half decent. That's about the only negative keeping my from trying one.

The BLR Trigger is by no means a light ultra crisp target trigger. But I find the negative hype has been way overblown about it. IMHO its absolutely fine for its intended purposes.
