I will be ordering a new pistol soon and have a question on sights. My eyes are not as good as they once were and I have difficulty with iron sights. I am considering ordering 3 dot Tritium sights however I know little about them.
I will not be shooting in low light conditions and wonder if the tritium sights are over kill. Also will the tritium gas burn out in 10 years? Any comments would be appreciated.

Investigate some fiber optic sights. For popular guns there are usually several different options. Note that if you replace a stock front sight with FO,the height and width of the new sight is often different from the original and you will have to replace the rear sight as well. Do your homework and you will have fewer surprises.

High visibility sights are bigger than most factory sights. That's what makes them easier to use. The tritium won't do much other than outline the sight. That's not a bad thing though.
