Another gadget. Looks like it works well though.

I think I'll stick to my homemade spyder, which screws into back end of my headstock spindle. I can see that being handy for pistol barrels though.

Not only that, it's a very good idea, especially for those who don't have spindles large enough to allow a barrel all the way through or the spindle isn't threaded. If I were younger, I would purchase that item in a heartbeat.

I would assume using this system would greatly reduce time and error when trying up a receiver??? Thus reducing costs....

If you goober grease on to the flat surfaces, it would stick together too. If we take it as a given that these parts were not made with a manual lathe, the parts SHOULD fit at least that well. Not something to get all googly eyed over.

With practice, I figure it would work as well as anything. But it does seem to be an answer for those unwilling to set up their lathe and chucks properly in the first place.
