I've heard that the SDM-12 has been re-classified to a restricted handgun . Don't know if that's true . Anybody heard anything ? What about the 12's that aren't marked SDM ? The registration for my 8.5" says non-restricted so should i be expecting another registration slip re-classifying it to restricted ?

no you don't... pistol grip is still fine on non-marked recievers.
he bind they got into with the gun is that when marked "DLASK SMD-12" is that the gun was manufactured, ie: a new firearm and not a remington anymore.
So just "better safe than sorry" I guess.... This way there is no hassle while Dlask works it out in the courts?
babyseals model is not before the courts, only the SMD-12 is (my understanding) as it was ruled a "handgun".
No , i'm not joking , i don't live here . I just read the last 7 pages of the "Dlask dispute" thread and noticed that you offered nothing there either . I just read , today that the SMD 12 went restricted and until 'ponts' post didn't know that only a handfull were made and that Dlask swapped recievers . Thanks ponts . Enquiring about my 8.5" was no joke and in this thread there are differing opinions , excluding your post which offered nothing . It isn't restricted with the pistol grip , period . It isn't restricted with the pistol grip but you may get arrested and have it siezed until you prove otherwise . It isn't restricted but Joe Dlask recommends putting the full buttstock on it just in case . Now that it's all cleared up i guess i'll go with choice #2 , leave the pistol grip on and prove that it isn't restricted if it gets siezed . What do you think badboybeeson , good choice or another joke ?

Thats the problem - 20+ threads - it would take an hour to sift through everything. What does your registration certificate say? The CFC has all the information - afterall, these are the people that are looking out for our safety!
