Rwa 180b -- what is this??

They came out around the same time Wolverine/Kodiak came out with the WK180-c. Both are Non-restricted AR 180s with a modern update. Click new posts, there has been about 10 threads on either of these rifles going since around this time last year. Both seem to be excellent rifles.
 
I've seen it also afterwards I bought the wk. Price point is double and seems to have some differences in design (rear of upper, bolt, barrel, etc),

Looks like they got case deflector, "true" 1913 rail on receiver etc...

I really wonder what happened in that project, 2 canadian mfg doing the "same" based project, one swarmed the market. At least with advertising the others were silent. Couples of questions comes to mind, but in the end it's all business. Did they knew about each others project, did one got fcked by the other. If they were all partners maybe production would be speeded up with less hickups, then maybe no ones would be making a buck.

Rwa seems to got aftermarket parts already, I hope they get some goodies out. Price point is probably the result of material / quality used but I didn't dig into it...

IRG imports the Nodak aluminum lower (http://www.nodakspud.com/NDS-18S.htm) for the RWA 180B upper. Both are compatible with the original 180B parts.

Back when Canada Ammo was working on a 180B lower I tried to get them and RWA together but unfortunately either timing or pricing sent RWA to IRG.

The 180C was designed from day one to be $1000, they sacrificed in areas to get and keep the price there, that is why the prices are so different. You are not buying the same rifle and the quality is not the same. It sounds like they were still able to produce a decent rifle while keeping to the original budget but there have been a few reports of issues (just like any new product to market).
I prefer the Kodiak/Wolverine version simply because Wolverine is involved. I will not deal with IRG and since I already own an original 180B I have no use for the RWA upper.
Calgary Shooting Center is carrying RWA AR180 parts but last time I was there the "kit" they had was pretty much everything needed to complete the Nodak stripped lower which I did not need. I'm hoping they start retailing all parts.

RWA also mentioned at one time that they would be making custom gas system parts so hopefully those come soon so guys can start swapping barrels more easily on the 180C (harder to find 18.5+ inch barrels with carbine length gas).

Thanks for the props, but just wanted to make some quick clarifications.

Our relationship with IRunGuns....they are a possible dealer of ours, the same as any other dealer.

They are NOT an exclusive distributor (as was the original plan). Our parts can be gotten from any dealer (or from our own webstore). If your dealer does not stock our parts yet, they can contact us and we can hook them up.

NoDak Lower was used because it already had an FRT, we currently have stock on these but the price on them is pretty high for the build and now that we have our BFL, we have our own lowers in the works that will positively affect the pricing of our rifle.

Canada Ammo. We had high hopes to work with them, but I believe when the WK180C was released, they shelved their lower project, and we had to go with NoDak.

AR180B legacy parts....we have replacement parts available for anyone that needs a given part. CSC has kits that could be used as legacy or NoDak parts. If someone does not need the full kit for their legacy 180B, email us and let us know what you are looking for.

Gas Systems, we are working on mid length gas systems for replacement uppers for both our 180B and the WK180C.... in 7.62X39 and in 300 Blackout. These uppers will come with IBI Barrels that retail at $400 (which contributes to the pricing of the upper that another poster mentioned).

Working with Wolverine. We are primarily a Manufacturer of parts... and are willing to work with anyone to produce parts. In fact we currently make parts for a number of other companies.

Agreed, I own one of the last AR-180B-2 that came into Canada and even though I don't shoot it too much any more it has been flawless through a little over 1000 rounds, feeds from any magazine and is just as accurate as any XCR or Tavor. I'd love to get a chance to play with one of the original 180's or 18's.
I have no desire to modify it in any way other than what I've already done which was to swap in an ALG ACT trigger, other than that it's great how it is. It's not an AR-15 and it never will be so I have no desire to add rails or free float the barrel or change the stock trying to make it more like an AR. If I want that stuff I just pull out one of my other rifles :p

Very lucky to have a AR-180B-2.. those will be worth loads at some point im guessing?
 
Cool.. Well I just think it's awesome we have yet another semi-auto carbine, and even more so that it's being made here in Canada. Props to all involved.. no one will really know how much work you all are putting in to make this a reality in Canada... but I believe it's worth it and love the increasing choices we have.
