We've been getting questions about the FVRD's no shooting areas, which were last updated April 5, 2017, so we've out up a page on our site with a link to the most recent Google Earth map of the areas.

You can find that page here.

Happy shooting!

Couldn't open at work on my Mac either....requires some weird extension or app, that I won't be installing...

If you've got an Apple iMac you can check easily enough if there's a compatibility issue and how to resolve it.
More than likely, you'll need to update to Google Earth Pro. Your Mac has most likely updated itself automatically (1t's a 32 bit vs 64 bit conflict easy to resolve).
I'm no computer wizard, but I asked the question and clarified that my Mac is fine as is the Google Earth Pro that I'm running.
Both were up to date.

Thank you for adding the link and spreading the word.

I used this website on my MacBook, drag and drop the .kmz file from your download tab to the box on the page. No additional downloads. worked ok.

I knew Sylvester Rd and Stave got added, but oh man. There's like no where to shoot in the back 40 near the lower mainland anymore. Thanks to the idiots shooting up garbage and discharging near atv'rs.

Gotta go East Side of Harrison at least I believe. Sucks that Sylvester is closed. But I do recall getting showered with spent birdshot up there.

New shooter here. I've only had the chance to shoot at The Range. Where would I find some info on the best place to go out into the bush to shoot at some distance? Forgive my ignorance but this info is very hard to find. I can understand why people don't share this info for all the idiots who ruin it! If you could PM me that would be great!

Thank you! Are there any past files that include all of the no shooting areas?

Hello @TheDragQueen. I did ask about that when we got this file from them. Unfortunately there is no unified no-shooting area GIS data available from the FVRD or the province. The data is out there on iMap BC etc but it would be a pretty large undertaking to compile and we just don't have the resources to accomplish it. Maybe one of the GIS experts out there in the firearms community wants to tackle the project and if they do we would be happy to host it on our site.

Regards
Warren
