Stag 10 Arrived, cannot break down.

Not sure if this might be causing the problem,

But there is a tensioning screw that pushes up on the reciever to remove slop. To access it you need to remove the pistol grip.

Possibly the screw is way too tight causing it to make the pins hard to move. Is there any slop between the recievers?

Perhaps backing the tensioning screw will help? I dunno.

If it breaks down with both pins out it’s a known buffer tube problem, send it back.

With both pins out, the Balt into battery just turn it upside down and palm the Handguard with some force. When the front pin assembly breaks free pull the upper Receiver forward.

Guaranteed your bolt carrier is stuck under an out of spec receiver extension. Don't bother trying to get it apart, it's not going to fix anything. It's a known issue and they'll send you a new one.

If that was the case then would he not be able to pull both takedown pins and slide the upper forward off the lower?

Very tempting, but I am sending this brick back to the shop unused. Any others thinking about buying a Stag 10 sight unseen be forewarned.

Are you going to be sending it back for full refund?

Or do you actually want them to send you another one?

If this was me, and with these issues, that others are facing, id personally wash my hands clean of it and and never look back

It is a great looking gun, I can't give you an honest answer at the moment, I will have to wait to hear from Stag Arms to decide tomorrow. I will keep you posted. I think that BooSSted 's comment may be spot on.

Any advice you may have would be appreciated spyderchop. I bought this rifle brand new from The Gun Dealer in New Brunswick. At this point I think I just want a refund and will eat the shipping. I sure hope other potential Stag 10 buyers read this and proceed with caution.

Mines is in the mail. When it arrives, if it has issues can I return it for a refund, if it has not been fired? With all the #### I have been reading about these rifles I don't know that I want one. I think everyone needs to stop buying these rifles, until both the manufacturer and the dealer stop letting junk out the door. I can be more understanding if these were nickel and dime rifles, but to spend in excess of $2500 means you should be getting a quality rifle. At the very least, one should be expecting that these rifles work before being let out the door. The dealer is not exempt from this criticism.
