...

I can't answer much of that right now. I contacted IWI the day after it happened, no response. I have contacted federal twice, no response. I asked for my rifle back but it hasn't been long enough to get a response I'd say. I am certainly counting my blessings but at the same time it's hard not to be pretty upset. I don't want another Tavor honestly, were I to get another I would simply sell it.

Just because I wasn't grievously injured doesn't mean I wasn't hurt and doesn't mean this gun handled it well. I was burnt across the side of my face to where all the skin peeled and I still have scabs and likely pieces of plastic still embedded. All of that is on top of my face looking like an angry individual took a swing at me with the sharp edge of a 2x4. If this were a mag forward design or if they had bothered to install a liner like in other bullpups I very likely would have had no injury at all.

Having had an AR explode on me (known ammo issue) I can tell you that you get pretty good fragments from an AR as well.

Had I not been wearing glasses I would likely have lost eyesight.

Get all the info back and in writing, if federal doesn't do anything about it maybe contact an injury lawyer, as IWI has stated the rifle passed their tests and blames and ammo.

Really not sure what else you could do.

wow what a ####ty situation. And of course north slimeballs wont help you out.

typical.

What exactly do you expect North Sylva to do? Determined to be an ammunition issue by the manufacturers engineering department & are you now suggesting NorthSylva give the individual a new X95?

No, but they should have some sort of official correspondence to back up OP's claim with the ammo manufacturer, so it's not some rando from Canada saying "hey, your ammo kb'd my gun, someone told me so"

Isnt there a metal sleeve in this area? Which would be the blast sheild. Or do you mean something on the outside thaf does more or less the same thing.

If that bullet burst out of battery that damage shows its actually working to stop blast from moving up.

Still no resolution unfortunately. I guess IWI USA has found this thread. I am curious what their thoughts are. If the gun was in battery why were only two lugs damaged? Still seems to me that they were blown off by the escaping gasses. You can say OOB isn't possible all you want but I still say that is the cause.

I feel for you it's a fun gun and they aren't remotely cheap.

Not to jack your thread but I bought a new one and it went right back to NS for warranty. Hoped for a more reliable gun.

An interesting turn of events. IWI USA sent me an email and the gist of it seems to indicate I will be getting a new gun. Very peculiar but I'll take it!

That is correct. Obviously they would have a close relationship. I guess it's just a matter of customer service as I won't be getting an American rifle.
