Cheap ar??

I got the Radical RF-15 from SFRC when they had a 16 or 17% sale for around 670$ all in and its been treating me nice since I bought it.
I picked it up since it already had nice furniture on it (M-Lok handguard,MFT grip and Buttstock).
Figured id try the brand instead of buying the Smith and replacing the furniture, also there wasnt any real sale prices on the Sport 2.

The Radical did look like an awesome deal. If it was available when I picked up my M&P, I probably would have gotten one instead.

Looks like site sponsor Tillsonburg Gun Shop still has them in stock for $750. Save yourself having to pick up a low profile gas block/M-Lok rail and having to do a bunch of work. Also some slightly better furniture than your average mil spec stuff.

The M&P is the correct answer to your question. Buy a used one for $550-$600, shoot it 1000 times and sell it for $500-$550. It's the closet thing to a free test drive as you're ever going to get.

Everything here is correct and what I was going to say,

The Mossberg MMR hunter is great bang for the buck as well, picked mine up 500$, flawless after 2000 + rounds

No forward assist but who cares, never had to use that function in my entire life

You wrote what I was going to write word for word. They omitted the 2 most unnecessary parts of an AR....forward assist and dust cover. Mine just shoots and shoots. Super accurate and no hickups. I would buy one again. I love the knurled aluminum handguard and the barrel just doesnt foul on me. I also had 3 very good Norinco's before I bought the Mossberg. A 10.5" , a 14.5" and a 20" gen 1 CQ311. Kinda vietnam era look a like. Dont go hatin' on the budget guns people.

This is a good bargain on a good quality entry level AR...

And I have a PSA 9mm AR from IRG that’s served me well for years...I imagine their 5.56 version would be the same...

My Norc never failed me and could take a beating. She wasn’t pretty but she held her own on the range

And I own an NEA that’s never failed either (4000-5000 rounds now)...in fact it’s managed to even win a couple matches even...

You know what they say about opinions though...

I have Had the following Ar's:

Colt Sp1 (many years ago, before M4 existed)
Ruger SR 556 (liked the piston, did not like the heavy trigger)
DPMS Recon
Norinco M4 (liked it, finish not best but gun fine otherwise)
PSA M15

I never had a jam in any of these guns. They all ran 100% and were plenty accurate, more accurate than any Mini 14 I ever owned.

I never used the forward assist once, the only person I ever saw using one was a guy at the range shooting his improperly sized reloads which turned his AR into a single shot that required a smack for each round to be chambered. I moved far away from him quick.

Of all of these for best value, I would buy the PSA again in a second, best bang for buck, excellent quality at that price point.

So far I got
Stag stripped set $200
Stock/ buffer set/ LPK $130
Handguard $50
BCG/dust cover/CH $130
All I need is a cheap barrel?
Any thoughts on a cheap $100 barrel? 14.5 inches.

Am I the only guy who snapped up Cabela's $599 deal on the DPMS Oracle?

Delivered, in a hard case with combination lock, it came to $720.

14.5" barrel is fine unless you ever want to take it to US for competition. They require 16" min. barrel.

Norinco chrome lined 14.5" for $120 or 20" for $99 at Canadian Ammo. I could probably do better, I have a couple of extra never installed, unfired 14.5 hanging around if you PM me.
