Who has one, whadda think? Had a Glock 20, love the round not the pistol. Are these made (10mm) exclusively in the US? Thinking of getting one to go along with my German made P220 .45:)

I have one of the SAO Stainless Elite models. It was a dealer exclusive i believe (Lipseys). The grip is big and i have small hands but it is manageable. Got mine through Prophet River, Clay is the man. I am a big fan of 10mm. I would say of the 6 or so pistols chambered in 10mm that i own it would be tied for first for easiest to shoot.

I had an SAO stainless elite model. They are nice guns. Definitely a heavier build than the 45 220.

I liked it, but like others a little more. The trigger was not great but in fairness that can be fixed (too bad we can’t get the Gray guns trigger kits yet). I heard the SA trigger on the SA/DA legion model was better. I couldn’t shoot it as accurately as my 1911/2011 or EAA/Tanfoglio based 10mms so didn’t keep it. Not as comfortable to shoot as the Tanfoglios either (grip, muzzle flip) but that can be subjective. I would have kept it however if I didn’t already have a 220 and 226 in 45 and 9, and a few other 10mms.

You can’t really go wrong with one if you are set on it. The problem will be to find one other than the Camo models. They also charge quite a premium for the Legion model which is unfortunate. I may have tried that model if it wasn’t 500 more, but deciding factor was I wanted an adjustable rear sight given the range of ammo strength available for the 10mm.

Was just looking and notice that Gray Guns does not make a trigger kit for the SAOs anyway.

It's pretty darn nice. The all-steel frame and 5" barrel/slide make it kinda front heavy, but this helps reduce muzzle flip. I would have to say the trigger is not fabulous, but serviceable. I like the G10 grips quite a lot. I also have a EAA Witness in 10mm...I like the Sig better [watch the EE for the Witness to pop up...]. I just picked up a .22LR conversion kit for the P220...haven't fired it yet, but will soon. This will take some of the sting out of ammo costs. [Will also be reloading the 10mm real soon]. I'm also going to get [somehow] a .45ACP top side for the 220...good fun!

Looking nice, looking nice:p As for the trigger, maybe a SRT would make it better?? Anyway do a range report say 10 to 20 groups if you don’t mind. Thanks

The Elite pistols come with an SRT. The trigger isn't bad but the DA stroke feels a little rougher than a premium pistol should have. I haven't fired this one a lot, so perhaps it just takes a bit of wearing in. I'll do a range test in the fullness of time...

Also...I realized the slide assembly of my P227 is identical to the P220, and gave it a try. It does fit, but tolerances may be too tight to function properly. I have to say that the regular 4.4" barrel balances better in the hand than the 5"...

Easthill has a 220 in 10mm for a long time now, beautiful gun minus the camo. Maybe if we could gun hunt up here camo might make sense.
