CANSOF IUR Clone thread

This may be a wild goose chase, but I recall TSE having an SAS upper in stock not too long ago.
May be worth a phone call if you’re interested.

i emailed them they said their sold out

Surprised you got an answer so fast. I tried e-mailing them a few weeks ago and never heard back. Figures they were sold out.

Out of curiosity, I might have a line on a single complete base IUR, with the Danish 15.7 barrel. Anybody know the feasibility/legality of having the barrel taken off and shortened to either 10" or 11.5"? Have to get one of True North's barrel nut wrenches to do any swaps, I'd imagine. Trying to figure out if It's worth it for a build. Pretty fair price if I go for it quickly, but I would much prefer to do the 10" model over a 15 7"

Why do you need another barrel nut? The one with the upper will be fine to be used again. The Danish upper isn't particularly great if you actually want to clone the CSOR IUR. The Danish uppers have a QD sling swivel pocked in the location where the SAS/CSOR IURs have a single slot picatinny rail.

I wont comment on the barrel length stuff... you'll hear opinions to some degree that support both sides of that debate. Of course you can install a new 10" barrel, but you'd be even further away from a clone by doing that as well... depending on how legit you want to go.

Mistake on my part, meant to say barrel nut wrench! Corrected now.

Fair points. Be about as legit of an upper as Mister Donuts over on the other forum. He did this a fair while ago as I recall. That said, if the SAS uppers are truly not available anymore as some have implied, then this with either a cut down barrel, a swap to a 10" barrel either from CC if possible or another CHF maker worst case, or an MRR 11.6 barrel are about as close as I'm likely to get now.

Ask North Sylva to order 200 or these as complete guns, like what they do with SA15.7 and SA20. This is possible if there is a show of demand.

If they can sell hundreds of C7 and C8 clones, I fail to see why people will not pay pretty pennies for a factory accurate CSOR clone

That is the only way to get a correct clone, instead of monkeying with things and swapping things around.

I had a chant with the CC commerical sales manager earlier. He is very interested in selling more to the commercial market. One of the things I suggested is making more accurate clones available ( and stop putting funky laser engravings on things )

I have been saying that for years. Good on you Greentipps for getting the idea out there.

Good call, that stupid laser engraving is the only thing stopping me from buying a SA15.7.

Greentips is right. Right now they are looking for input and suggestions. They are taking notes.

Speaking of the 10" SAS IUR. This was taken a few days ago during a terror attack in Nairobi. SAS operator:

Just saw some of the photos on reddit. Best me to posting about it Hilo.
On the other hand, cudos to Greentips for expressing the interest. Definitely be down if CC is willing to stsrr selling complete clone models. Even something close, like Geissele is doing with their URGI models. Training suppressor a la Surefire would be pretty sick too.
