Yes, it is cool to see the difference as the war droned on, at firstvthey were nicely milled and by 42-43 they barely knocked the slag off them befor pushing them out the door, still just as robust and same accuracy just quicker!
$400 for a shooter grade mosin... No thanks.
Any idea how this batch managed to get into Canada?
I'm also curious about the barrels. I'd like to order one, but would not like a dark counter bored barrel. I'm also a mosin noob, so could someone tell me the difference between round and hex receivers?
these things sure have gone up,i remember buying them for $128.99 about 3 years ago at LeBaron's in Ottawa, they had tons of them,
Round = later production, quicker and cheaper to manufacture.
Hex = Earlier production, more expensive and slower to manufacture and stronk stronk stronk. Great shooters and will have collector value some day.
Edit: Second from left in back row(muzzles towards camera) in the picture is a hex receiver.
Your mosin price instincts are about 10 years out of date.
I have no idea, I was shocked to see them available myself.
I remember SMLE .303’s for $50-$70
Those were good investments
NO COLLUSION !!!! ABSOLUTELY NO COLLUSION WITH RUSSIA TO GET THESE RIFLES !!! Next question.....
They were made in the US once way back when. Spot the Remington one in pic.
