Is it difficult to import from a vendor in Europe ?..or just cost prohibitive ?
Paying $3000 is retarded. I bought mine back in 2000 for $1650. That was one of the very first shipment. Then at the same gun shop I seen them climb in price to $1850 and then $2150. The insanity.
Maybe, maybe not. They sold in less than 3 hours after being announced... All of them. They're worth what people are ready to pay for them. It also depends on your budget... For some people, 3,000$ is like 100$ for you and me.

Maybe because FN won't entertain for an order of 20 rifles in semi auto only. More precisely, not many are buying FN2000 family other than the US civie market......unlike HK which is gulping up all the licensing deals. there is a reason - FN is way too cheap with the construction, do you really want a firearm that is made of plastic shells held together by screws.....like airsoft, that shoots 3MOA at best??
THe FS2000 is assembled in the US with enough US content to beat the part count to qualify as a domestic made rifle.
Seriously, save the money for the TAVOR or think about the MSAR Stg556.......instead.

I was told by FN USA that Belgium produces complete full auto guns only P90, F2000, etc. FN USA Fredricton, VA produces the complete semi auto lines, PS90, FS2000, etc.
Now, even the PS90 stocks say FN Herstal Belgium, so even though they are "assembled" in the USA, it looks like they are still "manufactured" in Belgium.

Well you’re the only person I’ve ever heard condemn the FN2000 other then me.
(and no never shot it). As soon as I saw the conveyer belt feature little bells starting ringing in my head, the more I dug the more I hated it. I agree with all your points GT, IMHO it’s a proof of concept gun and little else, maybe a good movie prop gun. The ejection system actually seems to be the best part about it but my gut tells me time will prove otherwise, I feel sorry for the Slovenia Armed forces, I can't understand all the fuss for it.Not interested in the MSAR Stg556 either, cause it ain't mil spec, (but I never "loved" the aug). I do like bullpups and if the Tavor gets here in numbers IMHO it will be the best thing to come to Canada since the Swiss Arms specials.
As much as I love Colt, I can't see myself paying that much for an AR. I'll stick with my LMT for now. When we get into that price range, I'd have to add another PE-90 or the Swiss Arms Carbine perhaps to complete my set. I did notice the Diemaco markings on the upper in the pics posted by CRAFM though. Whoever the buyers are, they're getting a little piece of Canadian made AR goodness!

Like anything in life, they are only over priced if they dont sell ( they sold right away). The fact that if you want one and since they are no longer allowed in the country, you have to pay for that. In fact since they sold so fast, you could argue they were under priced.
Your right, sitting in Canada on a sunny afternoon with our 5-10 round mags and shooting a couple hundred rounds with friends, you will not notice or need the difference in the highest quality control/assurance. But everyone has different needs and wants.
