First time reloading. Most likely I will be purchasing a Dillon press. I could use a hand figuring out which online stores are best price/service for purchasing brass, presses, powder, tools?

thank you!!!

X-Reload for Dillon presses, Canada Ammo for Dominion Primers, FTP for bullets/powder, JTT Projectiles for Hi-tek coated bullets. Higginson has some good powder prices and if you get together with a couple of friends for a larger order shipping is free.

Any site that ships for free when a spending threshold is met like Western Metal, Tenda, Firearms Outlet Canada etc.

Tenda hands down... they usuall have everything in stock at once, projectile prices are the best, primers are good. Slow getting order out, but freee shipping over $300

canada ammo - why get dominion/murum primers for $40/1000 when you can get CCI for same price. Stocked up on Dominion when they were under $27.50/1000

western metal - never has stock, if you're local not too bad

budget - decent, but shipping costs, no local pick up

All others are too small to deal with for reloading supplies

If you live in BC then budget shooters supply is the best. If not, I order other stuff from xreload and various other retailers

Prices go up and down, sales come and go, currency exchange rates fluctuate. The store that had the highest price last month might have a sale this month to get rid of their overstock.

In other words the shop with the best price on primers today might not have the best price next time you buy the same thing. You need to check prices at the time and don't forget to consider shipping. Sometimes the local store with higher prices is still a better deal if you can pick up yourself and not pay for shipping.

In other words there is no "best" store or shop.

I live in the east so Londero and x-reload are good. X-reload has the largest stock of any i've seen in Canada. Higginson's is hard to beat when it comes to powder. Great prices. But like jethunter stated there is no "one" place.

Compared to whom?

As an example for on line prices right now . . .
Higginson, 8 lbs of H-4350 is $270.
X-Reload, 8 lbs of H-4350 is $344.
Rayner Shine, 8 lbs of H-4350 is $359.

Right, I guess you skipped over this part of the sentence?

I guess it depends on what you're looking for

I have no costumer loyalty, I buy what I need from the place that sells it for the cheapest price.

I didn't skip over anything. I just supported my statement by providing examples of prices of a commonly used powder from the retailers I frequently deal with; perhaps you can provide examples of retailers having powder prices less expensive than Higginson to support your claim.

Not interested, sorry.

Year in year out decade after decade Higginson is hard to beat for prices on anything, let alone powder. Because of a place like this we can still purchase powder at a decent price.

I agree, I dealt with them back when they were Ammo Mart. I wasn't trying to embarrass 4n2t0, but if he knew of a retailer with lower prices, I am truly interested. I know that Hummason Manufacturing has had good deals as well, but he won't take credit cards.

Embarrassed? Please, lol. I'm simply not interested in going down that hole with you. I get it, you REALLY like Higginson and I'm glad that works for you.
