Hi Guys,
I know these are fairly new to the scene, but wondering if anyone has seen one or handled one?
Looks by the specs to be a great competitor to a Kimber Montana
Let me know your thoughts.

Looks pretty good. Nice LOP, good barrel lengths, a bit too light for me and no floorplate. Left handed availability too. Msrp at $2k American should see close to $3k up here. If you can get your hands on one. Guys sure will pay for lightweight these days.

It'll be interesting to see what they actually weigh. MRC has 'missed weight' by a considerable margin in the past. Still a fair bit heavier than a Kimber, even if it does make claimed weight.

Could be a very nice rifle overall, and very interested in a LH model.

their site says $1699 in one spot and $1975 on another. Gives the buyer options ;)

I haven't checked Kimber prices in awhile, but isn't that mountain ascent price, and almost a full pound heavier than a mountain ascent?

I'm into my Rem 700 for about $1500, it weighs 5 lbs 7 oz with a 22" barrel and a floorplate.

I called prophet river as well. They called me back promptly and quoted me 2790$ delivered to my house. But there was between 6-8-? months before MRC had one available. This was in 270 Winchester if that matters.

That's a nice rifle. Interesting that they put 24 inch barrels on the 270/7-08/308 ones since a 22 inch barrel would have been lighter and nicer to carry. I don't know if it is worth an extra $1000 more than my model 70 extreme weather but once all the reviews are in, I could be persuaded.........

If that is the landed price, then I think I will get a Barrett Fieldcraft. Or a Kimber. Cheeper and proven.

Competition for the Barret Fieldcraft maybe? Approx 4 to 5 ounces heavier but CRF and looks like slightly heavier profile fluted barrel. I don't know why all these light rifles insist on 24" barrels lately though, 22" saves a few more ounces, less harmonics/whip on the light barrels, and better balance and carrying/moving in cover, IMO. The velocity loss isn't going to make or break anything, IMO. If this does have a heavier barrel than the fieldcraft and you chopped both to 22" they may be damn close to identical weights. I'm curious what the MRC "synthetic" stock really is made of though as the Fieldcraft has a carbon fibre at the same price point.

EDIT: This was based on the first price posted at $2249, not the second at $2790. If the latter is the real price then the Fieldcraft is probably the better bang for your buck. Pun may or may not be intended ;)

Kimber montana is going for around $2100.00
Mountain Accents are anywhere from $2450-$2900 depending on dealer

Holy crap they have gained like $800 over the last 8 or so years.

I bought a Rem 700 Mountain SS for $1100, sold B&C stock for $300, paid $400 for filled and sanded Wildcat blank, plus $400 ish for fitting, bedding, painting and ended up with a 5 lbs 7 oz rifle. I'm happy considering these other expensive options. If I was the OP I would go for the Montana.

Yikes. That's quite the disparity from what they quoted Tod. i don't see them selling many at that price point. Too many other good and proven options.

May sell a few to desperate lefties...

When I got my Montana in 2007 I paid just over $1100 from S.I.R. I bought my Mountain Ascent for $1900 4 years ago. I wouldn't pay what they are asking for them now.
