Chilly day out for predators but manged a few. All fur was sent out to NAFA for the Feb. sale. Fox measured 4ft 6, biggest Ive ever got and he is going to get tanned, beautiful big fox which is very rare in my area.

My average last season was $140, some got me over $200 for my higher grades. I sometimes keep the skulls but the rest of the body is used to feed magpies, ravens and eagles.
My numbers are down from last year, as are alot of other guys but I sure do notice a big increase in the number of upland game and whitetail deer in the area.

I was wondering what caliber / bullet combination you are using? I have found that with the 22-250- 40 grain Winchester factory loads, work well, most of the time. Meaning, I don't end up doing a lot of sewing, unless the shoulder blade is hit.
$140 average, is an excellent price for fur. Most people around central Sask seem to average a bit over $100, I assume this is because our coyotes are generally darker in color than where you are down south?

Im shooting a .204 w/ 35 gr Bergers. The bush coyotes don't do quite as well as the prairie coyotes do. Seems like southern Sask coyotes have lighter coats and that's what buyers are really after. Nice heavy western coats w/ clear bellies with no damage fetch top dollar.

Tell me where? Probably the thing I miss the most since moving to the east Kootenays is calling coyotes. Going from multiple dozens a year to none is a let down.

I always remember, in Nature there is a balance, coyotes and foxes eat primarily mice, destroyers of grain and a lot of other things.

All the coyotes from NAFA pretty much go to the trim market. Canada Goose jackets really ignited the trim market in the past few years. Makes me happy happy happy !!

Lots of Coyotes in South Country - Caven Creek road, Linklater road etc.
South of Jaffray, towards the Montana border.
