Where can I get a buffer for a mini 14

You can make your own from an old leather belt.
This is very true.
I made mine out of an old thin leather belt.
I made one for the rear of the op rod to buffer the receiver face . Use a fired 9mm casing to hammer a perfect hole for the op rod spring/guide. I also made a small one around the gas piston to buffer the front ferrule of the stock from op rod.
Just make sure if you fabricate one the thickness doesn't inhibit the action from moving rearward enough to have the bolt catch not lock.
The difference is very noticeable. It really reduces the hard, smashing CLANG of shooting these awesome rifles.
