So I'm taking a serious look at both, however I always like to hear from "end users" the 1-4 for an AR, and the 1-8 for a .223 bolt gun or AR, ranges in the 300-500yd range.
Thanks

I have the XTR II 1-8x FFP ballistic circle version sitting waiting for my Modern Sporter receivers.
Won't be able to tell how much I like it until I have it mounted and try it out on the range, but first impressions just looking through it holding in my hand - the glass is great and I love how good and bright the illuminated circle looks at the lower 1x-ish range.

I have a XTR II 3/15 and love it! I would say very close to my Nightforce scopes!

No time on the 1/8 but for 223 bolt guns I like 2.5/10 glass

I have a 1-4 on a 223, and it will not cut it for accurate shots out past 400 yds (maybe it would with a better shooter, idk). I would at minimum get a 1-6.

I have the Burris XTR II, 1.5 -8x / 34mm , I purchased it for my Tavor , absolutely love the scope....
I have a Modern Sporter on order... My plans are to swap my Burris XTR II , on to the M/S..... and I purchased a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x which now sits on my Tavor.
I also own a Burris Veracity 5-25x, on my Modern Hunter,
and a Burris XTR II / 34mm, 5-25x, Rem 700 5R /300 win mag / Cadex Chassis..

Needless to say.... I kinda like Burris Scopes.

I wouldn't mine hearing more about the 3-15? while I had thought that the 2-10 would be the one I wanted, it only comes in MOA, so that changed my mind.
The only "negative" I've read about the 2-10 is the tighter eye box on the higher magnification? , they say? in the 3-15 it's more forgiving or less noticeable.
Thanks

Just did an "unboxing" initial impressions are quite good, it's a bit heavy, but the glass is remarkability clear, will mount and shoot it next week, more to follow.

Just put a Steiner P4xi 4-16x56 on my ssg 3000 with a near alphamount. Scope seems quite nice, need to get some range time with it. Reticle in it seems good, SCR ret.

Nice, just curious is the "CAD" hunting version? or the US version? , I talked to Stoeger about the US model that was released and they said that they were importing the "hunting" model?
Thanks. I'm still waiting on my P4Xi 1-4.

Only difference between Canadian, Australian and American models is the Canadian and Australian have tactical lasered on the ocular above p4xi. Doug from cameraland answered that for me.

I picked mine up from Calgary Shooting Center, it's on their website.

Mounted up the Burris 1-8 today, very easy to get on paper and adjust the turrets for more elevation, the windage seemed a bit "mushy" but they only required a couple of tenths of a MIL adjustment.
Overall I'm quite pleased, glass is "top shelf" and clear, the eye box is great and I"m really liking the reticle so far.

Here's a 10 shot group @ 100yd, just after zeroing. More to follow;

Still liking the XTR II 1-8x ?

I'm more than pleased with mine after getting out the last few weekends with it. Really glad I went with the FFP Ballistic Circle version. It's really a great do-it-all LPVO. The illuminated circle at 1x is great for acquiring targets quickly and when you're at 8x the .1 mil dot is nice and fine for medium range precision shooting.

So I finally got this mounted and zeroed. Overall very pleased with the scope. This is my second Steiner scope, and overall its been great. The eye box is generous and the reticle is simple, and easy to setup using the Strelok app. Since an RDS is not an option anymore given my astigmatism, I'm pretty happy with using a low power scope. While this scope can be used as an RDS at 1 power, I found, for myself that the dot had a bit of a "tail" however with a variety of illumination settings, I was able to "turn down" the power and the dot was fine. The diopter setting on the scope made getting the reticle sharp very easy as well. I was able to put several rds in a 1" dot at 100yrd. If the reticle was a bit "finer" it would have been even easier. Zeroing was simple I needed some adjustment on the windage, however the elevation was dead on. Once the turrets are set and "capped" you use the reticle as a BDC, very simple and, so far so good.

On another note, a good friend managed to talk me out of getting some Butler Creek (BC) scope caps, while BC is good "bang for the buck" I'm glad he did. This is my first experience using them, and I was very impressed with the Tenebraex product. Easy to install and well made. The folks at Armament Technology (AT) were great to deal with. Patrick was awesome, and customer service along with shipping was fast. The caps were the perfect size, and fit great. Thanks troops!
