My new Tikka

For a while I have had thoughts of getting something more powerful then my 10/22 it needed to be under .275 caliber, have somewhat inexpensive ammo and easily avaiable. Other requirements for my hunting/target rig, was that it doesn't bruise the shoulder or hurt the wallet so much when feeding it.

Gun Specs:
Tikka T3 Varmint Stainless Steel
Chambered .223Rem 1-8" twist, 23 3/8" barrel

Scope Specs:
Bushnell Elite 4200 6x24 - 50mm (30mm Tube)
-MilDot rectile, Sunshade and target knobs

Mounting + Others:
Burris Signature Rings + mounts
Harris Bi-Pods

Accuracy:
100yards: .6 - 3 shot group with Winchester Supreme 50gr bullets

TIA - I already have a .270 and 7mm mag but neither can be used in southern Ontario for small game.

i know by the time I sighted in the scope and did few fun shots, I had no ammo. Someone bought out all the .223 ammo out of Lebaron's (both locations) and out of Bass Pro here in GTA. I picked up the rifle and the last box on Friday, $23.99 a box of those Winchesters.

Someone bought out all the .223 ammo out of Lebaron's (both locations) and out of Bass Pro here in GTA. I picked up the rifle and the last box on Friday, $23.99 a box of those Winchesters.

That sucks. TSE here in Calgary has tons of Federal American Eagle 55grain FMJ, around $230 for 500 rounds IIRC. They also carry the Gold Medal Match which has the Sierra 69g Match King, about $23 a box of 20.

Maybe time to mail-order some in.
