Looking to see if anyone has had any experience with Lyman and their warranty.

Got a Gen 6 dispenser/scale 6 weeks ago, and a few days ago it stopped dispensing.. nothing happens when pressing enter at all. Cleaned everything out, spent hours tinkering with it.. nothing.

Lyman says my only option is sending it to Connecticut, which will cost me close to $40 I believe.. but I don't want to bother if it's going to be some huge run around. I'm expecting I'll have to pay for customs and all on the way back, and possibly on the way there too.

Wondering if anyone has any timeline information, good experiences, etc..

Or if anyone has some magic Lyman contact that can get me sending it to a Canadian distributor instead of all the way down to Connecticut? Seems odd to me a company of their size has no Canadian distributor to handle such things. I got a dud Hornady Bench Scale 2 days ago and they're sending me to a Canadian distributor which makes so much more sense.

Thanks for any and all help!! I've had some real bad luck with any electronic reloading tools I've bought lately.

I don't have any experience with Lyman but I can tell you that if done properly you should not pay duty for items being repaired under warranty.

Well that's good news at least. Asking them if they'll cover my shipping to them & back (I assume not there, but back).

Good chance I'll just say screw it and void the warranty & take it apart myself to try and figure the problem out. International warranty service has always been a huge pain for me in the past.. so unless anyone else has a suggestion or any insight I might just go that route.

A shame a big company like that can't set something up in Canada. Lyman is sold all over the dang place!

Did you try zeroing the scale with and without the weight. Nothing under the pan ? They tell you very specifically NOT to turn it upside down or even tilted at all. I'v had one for a couple years and suddenly it stopped working. Turns out it was my fault. I inadvertantly touched the scale measurement unite button and I had it on ounces or some such thing. Another time it had a couple kernels of powder under the scale pan. I called them and a very helpfull lady walked me through it each time. Good luck.
