Guys I cant figure it out, my buddy and I have the identical A-bolt eclipse with BOSS, other then he has a 300WSM and I the 270 WSM. Both are very heavy guns and shoot real well, but for the life of me why is there so much muzzle jump out of the 270WSM where the 300WSM has almost non?

Anyone have similar issues with 270WSM's?

I have identical M70's in 270WSM and 325WSM. Both have the same scopes and everything. I find the 270WSM has more of snappy recoil and the muzzle jumps more. The 325WSM pushes a lot more, but does so straight back. Who knows why?

the only 270WSM I've shot was a T3. Mofo was that gun obnoxious off the bench!

could be because the 270 has more powder gases being funneled down a smaller hole. Like a big fart!

A little strange to me, I just thought the 270WSM and 270 win had about the same amount of recoil, I guess I was way off. Caooy how do you like the 270 WSM so far?

I have an old .270 that isn't so bad even if not placed just right, but my new .270wsm feel like it'll pop your shoulder out unless it's in the sweet spot.

Damn those WIZZUMS, maybe I'd better go back to muzzle loading? Where I know what to expect. I guess it must be misinterpretation on my part.

Funny...I heard the WSMs kicked less while produceing better speeds from shorter barrels in lighter guns.

Isn't it funny what advertisers will do to make you buy something. Golly Gee I bet sometimes they even lie , to get you to buy their products.

You htink a 270WSM is going to kick less than a 270 WIN?:runaway:

In 300WSM vs 300WM You do get to burn a bit less powder wiht the WSM to achieve the same velocities, though. Recoil is maybe a bit less, if using the same rifle.:dancingbanana:

The rifles are generally a little lighter, because there is less metal.:)

My Ruger Frontier in .300 WSM gives 30:06 velocities but does it in a 16 inch barrel. Recoil is a bit less than my .300 win mag with a conventional barrels except with some muzzle rise. The gun weighs in a bit over 7 pounds unscoped so its no light weight.

Everything is a compromise. I wanted a fast handy gun and that's what the Ruger is in spades. The recoil is quite manageable ( several people have tried mine and other board members who are lucky enough to own one have come to the same conclusion). The price is a velocity loss of 250FPS over a 26 inch barrel, but your'e still getting 92% of the velocity with a 26 inch barrel

270WSM is a pussycat compared to a .270WTHBY in rifles of the same weight! What did you expect from a 6 1/2 pound rifle?
You compare any WSM to a comparable belted magnum and there will be less felt recoil in the same weight rifle.
I believe people should learn to read and comprehend before they are allowed on the internet....:onCrack:
And I think the only people who should comment on the short mags are the people that have actually owned and fired one more than once!:slap:JBRO.

When are you going to understand that what you hear and read is not always true? What you read in manufactures catalogs and on ammo boxes is not exactly holy scripture.
