Deal Alert - RCBS partner press kit $99+Free shipping!

It's not a bad deal for what you get but it's not a full kit by any means.
- The digital scale is worth what you pay for it, probably about $5. I would supplement that with a mechanical beam scale at least.
- I seldom use a case lube pad
- need a bullet puller
- need case trimmer for rifle
- need calipers
- need primer pocket cleaners

What do you use?

I have a Dillion 550 but this might be handy for other odd reloading jobs here and there and it’s only 100 bucks what the heck

Ordered one as my introduction to reloading. Besides dies and shell holder, what else will be required?

Copied from a different thread. https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1744815-What-needed-to-start-reloading?

To get started with the most basic/starter reloading set up, you will need this:

1. Press (single stage) O frame
2. Scale (beam scale) for weighing powder charges and bullets.
3. Priming tool (some presses come with a priming tool, LEE for example)
4. reloading die set for your chosen cartridge AND shell holder (LEE dies come with shell holder)
5. trimmer (not needed for most handgun cartridges) use the LEE handheld trimmers for about $15
6. powder funnel
7. loading block (easy to make it yourself with a piece of 2x4 and a drill)
8. case preparation tools (inside/outside neck chamfer, large and small primer pocket cleaners)
9. caliper (digital or dial)
10. bullet puller, because you will need one eventually

This is a basic setup that will make excellent quality ammunition and is all that many shooters will ever require. At some point you may want to add a powder measure and some kind of brass cleaning machine but you don't need it right away. An experienced reloader can make 50-100 cartridges per hour with that setup.

So I walked into bass pro today to order this as they own cabelas and are closer to me. They have to order it in but it was only $75. $85 taxes in

I do indeed, took my one and only deer with it a few years ago. I've been using Federal and S&B factory loads; the 180's flop pretty quick, but hit like a ton of bricks. I'm thinking of loading pro hunter 180's or Hawk 174's at ~2400 fps. Might look at loading 215's at 2100 for bush use in my beater Enfield.

That's a very cool rifle you've got there.

Kit arrived around noon and I must admit, not a bad little kit. Not one bit!
Cleaned the packing grease off, lubed everything up with high pressure moly, cleaned all excess off with pure alcohol and now she is as smooth as it should be.

Very good deal indeed and thank you for sharing!

I wonder if the scale is any good?
I was thinking of picking this up and dedicating it for decapping by using a Lee decapping die.
Thoughts?

Edited to add: I'm a reloading virgin hence the dumb questions everywhere:redface:

Just unpacked mine today. Could not find that RCBS digital mini scale offered for sale on the net. Was looking through Amazon.ca. The same scale is sold as SmartWeigh SWS100 Elite scale for 17.95. Identical scale, but different colors - even same advertising text, is also listed as a Hornady Electronic Scale (1500) for 96.85.

Aside from the scale I found everything else in the box listed for sale separately on Cabelas or Amazon.ca - often both. Using the lowest prices between those two, other than the scale, the stuff in the box adds up to 242.56 to buy individually. Free Shipping was an extra special bonus!
