Walther Q5 Match steel frame first looks

I find it looks like someone bought a sweet mustang, put stick on hood vents, spinner rims, and flame stickers on the sides...but they also tricked out the engine and can do 0-60 in 3 seconds.

I am going to get one no question. I just hope they are less than 2200 based on the US. MSRP. Counting on dealers may sell for less but the first batch will certainly be full pop.

It would have to sell at around a $1,500 price point to sell in any numbers. Depends on the Euro/CDN$ exchange rate. I believe our Wlathers come out of Germany.

That would be steep! A Shadow 2 would be considered a bargain. I hope the price point isn't that far from the S2 just to keep the pool interesting.

The polymer frame version is around $1200 here, and the SF is going for almost double the polymer frame in the states.... So $1500 probably ain't happening.

Pricing is different in all markets. No sense in bringing the gun in if it is not competitively priced. In the US MSRP doesn't mean much, unlike here where the market and retail competition is smaller. If I am right on the Euro/Dollar exchange rate then you could see a price difference. I do agree the pricing in the US is quite high for what you get. The shooters are buying the gun so we shall see. It may be a $2K gun but it won't get in my safe for that price. Why? Because the almost negligible improvement in my shooting experience isn't worth investing two grand in another gun. It is not like I don't have enough toys now to haul to the range.

Anyone have any information when Q5 SF might arrive in Canada? If you are patient, just like every other new firearm they eventually show up on EE.

Wow! A potential Shadow beater. But the price!!!

It is a shadow beater and I fully expected the price to come in over that amount. All the middle to higher end 1911's are more than that so they are not out of line. Dan Wesson PM's are 2200+. Now the big question is do I want to slash my wrists and get in on a pre order or wait. Its not like only 8 will come into the country like the Shadow II optics ready. Will it ??? I'll let you shoot mine Still Alive.

Love to take you up on the offer! You should convince Phat Eagle to get one!

If you are in for a loaner you can just send it up here for testing. I'll put it through several top secret special handshake tests over the course of , say six months. I promise you a 30 word report on it's performance. You wouldn't want to lend it to Still Alive not knowing how it would. perform. Just trying to help out.

Nobody is going to loan anything. Shoot, yes. Loan, no. Phat Eagle is too cheap to buy one.:p

I prefer to think he is just frugal. Jimbo has convinced me to put away some pennies or just sell off some of the long guns I will never shoot again. Might be worth waiting to find out what Turdo is going to try to do before chasing the latest and greatest.

I have a friend who is R&D for a certain firearms company based in Ulm, Germany. I just messaged him to see if he can spare one of these Wunderkind guns for a little review. If the red tape isn’t too crazy, it may just happen....fingers crossed if nothing but to make you guys jelly! I probably jinxed it here!
