"Mass balanced" action civilian market version of a rifle that the Russian military formally adopted into limited service last year. Supposedly the manufacturer is not under sanctions so that'd be very helpful in making it available here.

I take no pleasure in saying this, but they are under sanctions. ZiD (Zavod imeni Degtyareva - Degtyarev Plant) is a subsidiary of RosTec. RosTec is under sanctions.

As far as I can tell its a targeted rather than blanket ban, and I see no specific mention of ZiD under any of the Canadian sanctions lists.

In your link see subsidiaries of Rostec -> OAO Wysokototschnye Kompletksi. They are a holding company that holds Degtyarev among other things (en.wikipedia DOT org/wiki/High_Precision_Systems)
