For target use... what are most Tavor users choosing. I find most optics are based on AR co-witness heights but are to low for Tavor.

I really liked the elcan specter 1-4 when I had mine. If I had to choose today, I’d use my Nightforce NX8 1-8 or some other kind of well made LPVO

MEPROLIGHT M21 with an Aimpoint 3x Magnifier in a Larue Mount. An Elcan Spectre DR or OS4x would be my next choice. Far better optics with the Elcans, but the Mepro is the authentic Israeli set-up so that's what I currently go with.

Transumer a couple of things to help you think this out.
What is your vision like?
What budget are you willing to use?
You say target shooting, to what ranges and what expected accuracy?

is that a 18.5" barrel?? Reason I ask is that the handguard seems shorter than mine.... might be the angle, thicker business end, etc though. I also want to do the black IWI grip with FDE guard. :)

It’s hard to find a comfortable optic for the Tavor. The cheek weld really sucks on it so you need something with a huge eyebox. I tried a Viper 1-4 and that sucked. I now have a ACOG and am very happy about it. I did get a chance to shoot a Tavor with a Elcan 1-4 and it was awesome.

As mentioned above they aren’t exactly tack drivers so a red dot would probably do just fine.

Thanks all for the advice. I have a sig Romeo 5 and spent an hour at a indoor range (25yrd). Actually it didn’t feel low. I like the lighter weight of this optic.

At the local store I mounted and eotech exps onto an x95 and it fits well other than the massive optic on top. I was looking at the mepro mor but wonder if the price is worth it for 7+ year old optic technology.
