Deal Alert - RCBS partner press kit $99+Free shipping!

Check this setup out for an ultra space efficient reloading station:

Box it came in was 12"W×10"D×5"H.
Resale might be what you paid for it since it is half off.
All you need are dies for each caliber and yes, you can do both handgun and rifle rounds with this.

I live in the city so I live in a tiny box; I’m not sure I’d ever get into reloading because of the lack of room and I barely can get out and shoot as it is anyways due to distance. Everyone’s making a big deal about this and it sounds like a good deal. Couple questions:

1) If I never use this, is it all in a smallish box I can store for the future in my closet or wherever?

2) What do these go for on ee, if I decide to sell in the future ( in case I never get into this)?

3) With the right accessories ... can this be used for both rifle and handgun ammo?

I’m thinking of ordering one and putting it in the closet or whatever in case of emergency .... ammo shortages, price hikes, political interference, etc. Seem so like a small $$$ investment.

Oh, without a work bench, could I mount this on something more portable?

Thanks for any input that anyone might offer

Thanks sixty9santa for all that info

I may have missed the boat though as the free shipping is now gone, but I may check out basspro (closer to me).

I received it on Friday , all looks good but I’m not sure what I’m looking at haha. Again , what do I need to reload 50ae as that’s what I’ll start reloading and probably use this press exclusively for that

First, a reloading manual. There is no going around it because you need to understand the process. You'll also need:

Dies
Powder
Primers
Calipers

You will be able to start reloading with this and your kit. Eventually, you might want to get a powder measure, a tumbler (dry or wet) and a case lenght gauge.

Hope this helps. Happy reloading :)

Cool , gotta get dies , powder and primers plus I need to deprive and clean the cases that I haven’t even shot yet lol. I have calipers and wouldn’t I need a case length gauge right off the bat ?

Like he said - "First, a reloading manual ...." Among many other things the manual tells you the "trim to" or the "max" length of many cartridges. You can measure them with your calliper. A case gauge is quicker to use, for some people. However, there is also a kit by Lee Precision that is a holder and cutter as one part, and then a "Case Length Gauge & Shell Holder" for each cartridge as the other part, that together are used to trim the cases to length. The trimmed length is fixed. Your calliper will tell you if the sized case is short enough to load or not. I measure half a dozen out of 50 or so - if any are too long, I run the whole batch through the Lee kit, to get them all the same.
Also note, as far as I know, only Lee dies come with a shell holder for the press. Can't do anything with the press without a shell holder for the cartridge you are loading.

Contact RCBS, they should be able to replace under warranty.
That way you'll have two presses!

I picked one up too ..... I’m not sure I’ll get into reloading, but just in case there’s ever an ammo shortage or whatever ... then I’ll have the option. A hundred bucks seems like cheap insurance. I’ll have to pick up some dies and the other items generously listed in the above posts. Probably I’ll try and slowly pick up the extra pieces over time whenever I can get a deal or used piece or whatever.

I wouldn't bother with a reloading manual. I use Hodgdon powder for almost everything and everything you need to know about the load is listed on their website. For the how-to and/or process, there are a million videos on youtube. Skip the book and watch videos.

no offense but that's bad advice
yoube is unstructured. you miss one tiny aspect and a finger goes with it (I'm exaggerating a bit here)

Contact148, if ever RCBS won't take care of you, I would gladly take the broken press.
I have a project in mind!

I don't think so. If you watch 5 different videos of people reloading with the press/gear you have bought, you can easily figure out every step you need to take. You also get to see things that a book can't possibly show you. Video is so much better a teacher than a book is.
