There's a video on the main page of the Federal website below (Windows Media Player required) of Tom Knapp hand throwing 10 clay targets and hitting them all...Jim Scoutten (he posts here from time to time) is narrating....just some incredible shooting

Is there any provision in Canada to allow clay shooters to own semi-auto shotguns with a ten-round mag capacity? That would be a step in the right direction.

No and short of the stunt shooting like Flannigan and Knapp there wouldn't be much point. With the exception of rare speciality events, clay shooting sports are limited to two shots in the gun.

this is turning into an arms race between Winchester/Flannigan and Bennelli/Knapp
didn't Flannigan just beat the old record a couple of months ago?

According to the 2007 Winchester catalog, Patrick Flanigan set the record of eleven on July 6, 2005.

I met Mr. KNAPP at a SHOT show in Orlando some years ago. He was at the Bennelli booth. When I was getting a pic taken with him he asked if I used Bennelli shotguns. I replied " No, I shoot Remingtons" he replied "Oh well take the pic anyways" I found him to be a true gentleman and a pleasure to chat with. He reminded me of my dad and his bird hunting pals who always called you by "Mister" or "Miss" (what ever the case may be) and made you feel better just by addressing you in a professional manner. I hate to think that those days are gone but they are.....

cheers Darryl

If Winchester and Benelli are going to persue another record they are going to have to find someone with very large hands and probably go to a shorter shell to increase mag capacity.

"With the exception of rare speciality events, clay shooting sports are limited to two shots in the gun" 2 shots?? Man I load up 6 rounds into my shotgun and usually hold 1 or two ready for reload. When we shoot clays a box of 25 rounds goes rather quickly. If I could load more into the mag I would.

You might do that "informally" at the farm or out at a gravel pit.

Do that at a Gun Club on the Trap, Skeet, Sporting or 5-Stand
range however, and you will be asked to leave..... right away !

Sometimes when we have the skeet range all to ourselves we shoot triples at all stations. A double and a report single, or a single and a report double or three reports singles. Puller's choice. I don't think we are better skeet shooters for it, but it sure is fun and not as boring as regular skeet.

We do it at our gun club. Guess we have freedom and are not as uptight in Alberta.

I think it depends on the individual club rules. Last week at the Calgary Firearms Center, the a.h.e.i.a. range two guys on a trap field loaded their pumps with three shots and both filled the air with lead on each target presentation. That wouldn't have been too bad, but they did not unload between stations and one fellow who appeared to be coaching the other sometimes stood behind the other with a loaded gun. They were not asked to leave, but the range manager approached them and insisted on only one shot per target and insisted on an empty gun between stations. They complied and enjoyed a few more rounds and left with promise ro come back.

I frequently run accross a fellow at the aheia skeet range. Before each round he politly asks if he may be allowed to load two on the singles presentation so he can second tap in case of a miss. He shoots an o/u and is not so much interested in the skeet game as field practice. Since he is paying for targets thrown I have never heard anyone object. Sorry to get off topic.

There is mention in the video that Tom Knapp who is sponsored by Federal used to shoot A.T.A. Trap. Does anyone know what his averages were in registered shoots?
