Looking for people thoughts on either buying a 455 American since they are still readily available or to wait and get a 457 American? ... I'm a bit torn between the two

The new 457 average 960$Cdn. Ouch! Go to
rimfirecentral.com
In the states, they have reviews to the 457 and its problems and joys
Buy one of the few 452 still advertised

I want a CZ American as well. I have decided to go for the 452.
They cost less, and I like when receivers are threaded for barrel installation.

If choosing between the 455 and 457 I'd go with the 457 for the 60 degree bolt lift and backwards safety fix alone. I was at my LGS yesterday asking if he was bringing some in, maybe the MTR or the varmint with at-one stock but if there $1000 I'll look into something else. Didn't sound like he was in a hurry to order any anyway.

If the shorter bolt lift and push safety is a big deal to you you might want to wait for the 457. If money is a concern and you want it now get the better deal you can find between a 455 and 452.

I have two 452s; Canadian in .17 and the Military Training Rifle in .22. New bolt swing and safety are not an issue for me; the super accuracy of both of these rifles make them keepers.

The CZ457 Premium is going for about $910. The Lux is about $695 and the American and Varmint 457's are $595. I don't know what the MTR will be going for in Canada.

Know the place where you got your quotes( listed out of stock) don’t believe the new price will be the same. The average I listed was for the models now available in the “Dealer news section”
Prairie Trader still has 452 varmint listed
