Has anyone here tried to convert barrel length on their GHM-9 to non-restricted yet? I'm on the fence looking at options ("pencil" barrel, fake shroud etc). Looking at my registration cert it does say "rifle" under "type". If so, please pics!

I'd love to take this fun gun off the books and out in the bush, especially with Glock lower now available!

Sorry. I misread your statement and posted something not relevant.

Nobody has done the conversion yet because there are only restricted FRTs published.

You would be the first. Dare to venture into the unknown?

Ah, yea. The FRT. I don't have access to that.

Would I need to submit the converted firearm to the RCMP for classification? Not really into waiting...

Nope, just show any firearms verifier and theyll do the paperwork. Most gun smiths are also firearms verifiers.

I verified a rifle a couple days ago, RCMP had the new barrel length FRT added within 24 hours.

APC9 doesn't have a glock magwell or any 10 round options.

This, and the fact it doesn't remain a range monkey.

I'm seriously considering buying another one just for the Glock mags and making non-res and keeping one all original.

Looking at all the lightweight barrel options out there, the end result shouldn't be that bad. Besides, it becomes partially Liberal proof.

Glock mags are moot point, don't understand guys that wanna spend $3-4k on a gun (after optics) yet too cheap to buy a couple $50 mags..
Its like buying that new Z06 vette, but asking if you can take the tires off, because you have some Canadian tire all seasons laying around at home. Adapting glock mags is more of an after thought, prepare for a few issues , me thinks.

What helps having a 10 rounder in the bush? You can't hunt with that magazine either. So you can technically go plinking outside of a range, wow, sure sounds worth it to me.

10 rounds at a time are more fun than 5. Are you seriously contemplating hunting with a 9mm?

And couple mags? What is this amateur hour nonsense? you mean 20-30 mags right?

By your logic don't bother going non res at all then. Buy the standard gun and go shoot it...

Adapting Glock mags was not an after thought. B&T developed the 'accessory' that is the lower half to use Glock mags due to the prevalence of Glocks globally in use by Law Enforcement. It becomes an easier sell into many agencies wanting carbines for general issue, while maintaining compatibility with existing magazine inventories.

The people buying the B&T guns aren't too cheap to buy their mags - they make great stuff. The fact that you can however now use 10rd magazines, and being available at a reduced cost on the commercial market is icing on the cake, and will likely make the decision easier for people who are frustrated by the 5rd limit otherwise.

ummm, lets see...

- I own 2 glocks. Many KCI mags and original Glock 10 rounders. Lots.
- I own 2 seperate acreages in the BC interior. Lots of bush ranges to play in. Can't take pistols, no matter what people say "no-one will know, etc". F that. Stay legal.
- 5 rounders suck when you want to set up a little off-grid 3 gun circuit. Its like pulling out mid pump on a hot girl.
- I do own a stack of B&T 5/20 5/30 mags. :)
