This thread is for the proud owners of Modern Sporter to post their builds.
Guys are requesting a parts breakdown, which I think is a good idea. Also cost of build, which may not be a good idea.
I will try and get the 1 I posted priced out when I get some time.

^^Sweet!

I am supremely disappointed I didn't even know about BLK LBL before I bought a hand guard. I like the way they look and really like the whole idea behind them.

Oh well, maybe the FA upper will get one when the time comes.

Here's mine, #17. Nothing special really, just stripped my Armalite M15 Target and loaded everything up in the MS with the exception of a new low profile gas block from TNA and 15" M-Lok handguard from Mag Dump. Currently at 10.2 Lbs.

Very nice. I'm deciding if I should go with Eotech halo + magnifier or a 1-8x scope. It's too hard to pick!

You are talking opposite ends of the spectrum. An eotech magnified is nothing even close to what a 1-8 would be. Not even the same dimension.

Sick. Love the stock. What brake is that?

I made it out of one of the old chunky NEA ones. Was originally a two port. I threaded the OD and put straight knurl on the shoulder for the ratcheting barrel shroud/blast shield I have in the works. Have just been waiting to put it together so I can get a proper measurement from the brake to the end of the handguards internal relief.

Also want to make annodized aluminum rods for the stock instead of steel, but one thing at a time.

Any clearance issues with PDW rods along side the receiver? The MDI receiver is too wide for them.

Any issues accessing the safety when the stock is full-forward?
No clearance issues, they're literally a perfect fit.

They are a little close to the safety when collapsed, but it's still serviceable. However you cant fully rack with the stock collapsed, as there isnt clearance for the charging handle.

Also incase anyone was wondering, the anti rotation tab actually fits. A few swipes with a file on the tab and it lines up perfect.

More pics to follow

It’s a simple low budget build.

Parts list:
CNA 20” 5.56 barrel 1:7
OD green Magpul furniture (rifle length MOE handguard)
Nickel Boron Brownells BCG
Standard LPK (including trigger)
A2 flash hider
Aluminum gas block

I made what tools I didn’t have already (castle nut wrench, flash hider wrench, and barrel nut wrench)

All in, I’m very close to 2k after tax

I have a Burris PEPR and a Leupold 2-7 scope for this rifle.
