Currently I have Trijicon HD night sights on my G17 which are bright as heck at night but I'm having issues keeping on target due to the size of the front sight and my lack of gun time in general.

If I was to change the sights for something with a bigger front sight which ones should I go with?

If you are looking for better accuracy from a Glock, I would suggest a smaller front sight not a larger front sight? I personally like Warren Tactical Sights, but there are different brands out there to choose from, I prefer a fiber optic front sight myself and I find the Warren's easy to be precise with

Why is that? Are smaller/thinner front sights better for accuracy?

Your sights aren't the reason you're not keeping things on target. The real problem, which you allude to yourself, is gun time/practice. Are you a new pistol shooter? Shooting a pistol well is 70% flinch mitigation, 30% everything else.

I would recommend thin front site post. Warren tactical with front fiber optic are best Glock sights IMO.

Yep that's correct, my issues are all of the above lol
I'm trying to adjust what I can to improve but it sounds like my sights are fine and I'm the problem

So I purchased a training aid today the itarget system so I can practice my dry fire and have a visual of where I'm hitting.
It looks much easier on TV hahaha

I have read and watched a few youboobers say a thinner front sight post reveals more space on the sides allowing you to better centre the front post between the rear. YMMV.

That sounds backwards to me.

Keep practising, eventually it all comes together. Flinching is the biggest pistol gremlin. Dry fire a lot, use the ball and dummy drill and double up on your hearing protection (muffs over inner ear).

Good luck!

i recently put a set of Ameriglow Agent sites on my Glock, my first upgrade ever to any of my Glocks sites.

WOW!

those jump out and grab your eye!
really really REALLY like those sites!
