thank you. i`ve seen a number of other milsurps with spliced fore ends, but never a No1or No4. with the lack of fore ends around.....
the new tip of the fore end is actually from a mostly ruined Cooey 82 fore end, the barrel groove lined up nicely. and i have a few of them.
Looks great!! I have a similar project in mind - somewhat like yours. I have a M1917 Enfield sporter stock that was cut off to the rear of the band, so the splice will be "out in the open". I am curious how you dealt with the "up pressure" that is supposed to be at the muzzle - did you splice the fore end extension on straight and then create the up pressure when you inlet the barrel channel, or is the extension spliced at a slight upward angle??
