Hey guys~quick question from this non RPAL holder.. I ended-up buying a Ruger PC Carbine and for the first time, needing to learn more about the most economical/reliable pistol magazines to use with it. I was very impressed with the build quality of the SR9 magazine (stamped that it's made in Italy) but I wasn't expecting that kind of loading effort. Blaming freezing hands, not lack of strength/manliness. :p

Gun ran flawlessly, but I imagine it would with either mag type. I understand that SR9 pistols ship with a speed loader but the rifle doesn't. I don't see myself with more than 3 mags if I'm being honest, so both magazine types are options for me. Can any of you tell me where the best place is to buy new mags, that might also have a speed loader? In the interest of transparency, if I end-up getting my RPAL this year, a Glock pistol is not on my short list. So, if there is still merit in going the Glock route in spite of that, I'd be curious as to "why?". From what I can tell so far, availability is the key factor...but what is the difference in price anyway?

thanks for taking a moment to reply

The Maglula UpLULA loaders are nice.

Any regular full capacity magazine that has been pinned to 10 for Canada will be easier to load the last couple rounds but with a good loader it's not such a big deal.

In your case if your not interested in glock mags maybe try and find someone who doesn't want the ruger mags that come with the PCC.

I forgot my SR9 came with one of those. It's nothing special but you can have it for the low price of............FREE (plus postage if you're not close to Brampton).

Hey guys~the....the fog is clearing. lol Yes, I've heard/read lots of people saying "go Glock" for cost reasons...but I only just found Ruger SR9 mags and can now see the difference. Looks like SR9 @ around $62-$65 ea, Glock @ around $42 ea. A CGN sponsor told me this morning that the MagPul Glock mags are about $26. For anyone with more experience with these matters, and, who might have also run their pistol mags in the same rifle, I'm wondering;

1. MagPul run as well as Glock?
2. Last shot bolt hold-open still work with MagPul?
3. Which Glock mag (OEM) should I get for the rifle if I go that route?
4. Any mag I'm not looking at, and should?

Thanks!
