Simply put, I’m planning to swap stocks from a Magpul STR to a PRS Gen 3 on my stag.
Now, I’m aware the newer gen 3’s are compatible with a multitude of receiver extensions but I’m curious if anyone has compared a carbine and an A2 length receiver extension in a 308 large frame like the stag 10?

Any noticeable differences between the two in terms of function?

Any noticeable differences between the pull weight on the charging handle?

Also, if anyone has mounted the gen 3 PRS to a carbine receiver extension, how was the fit?
I can’t help but wonder if the cross bolt design used to secure the stock seems as though it wouldn’t be very solid.

Any and all help appreciated.

I've put a Gen 3 PRS on both receiver extensions on a Stag 10. Works fine on both. No issues at all.

Any comments regarding a possible difference in pull weight?

Reason I ask, the wife enjoys shooting the stag but she has a hell of a time trying to pull the charging handle back all the way so I’m curious to know if the added length of the A2 receiver extension and appropriate spring might result in a slightly easier time charging the rifle.
I’m not going to swap extensions just for the sake of doing it unless there’s a measurable difference or benefit to the A2.
