Did I read somewhere on one of the threads that the Maccabee SLR does not work with the Magpul BAD lever? If not, any recommendations for a similar setup?

Thanks!

Please tell us your expert opinion on the subject of BAD levers

I have seen more rifles fail to work properly with the BAD lever installed than not. The myth of needing to have the absolute fastest reload is what keeps gizmos like this selling. The risk of your bolt catch not working isn't worth the fraction of a second you might save by using the BAD lever.

That's not the only reason to use one. They also allow you to perform administrative actions while keeping your strong side hand on the fire control group

^^this......!

Many 3 gunners have been disqualified for ND’s because of apparatuses such as the B.A.D. Levers.

Did the BAD lever pull the trigger? I've never seen a BAD lever pull the trigger on a firearm before; that's crazy.

What I’ve seen is shooters with gloves hitting the lever by accident, during a reload, dropping the bolt before the mag is in inducing a dead man’s click.

What administrative actions? Not many people point a rifle and write a grocery list. Also that would mean your ambidextrious since you can write with your left and shoot with your right. Negating the 'benefit' of the BAD lever...

It’s simple....keep your finger out of the trigger guard period and nothing bad will happen, but this bling add on goes against all common sense and training by forcing a shooter to go against everything natural.

In the heat of competition many things can and have happened by forcing you to do something wrong.

As the saying goes “Quit f@cking with God and Eugene”

Hit the nail on the head

I run Phase 5 bolt releases on my AR’s, I’m not sure how your finger goes into the trigger guard when using it correctly? To me it’s a button like the mag release, it takes almost no force to release the bolt. Even with gloves on it’s far enough from the trigger it’s not going to touch it. And it is also is much easier to lock the bolt to the rear if properly utilized. If you train to use it properly and safely it is an asset, if you expect it to make you reload faster the second you install it you’re setting up yourself for failure.

Anyone firing the rifle negligently and blaming the equipment needs a new hobby.
