i curently own a cz550 bavarian in 3006 and a tikka white tail hunter in 7mm rem mag but want a 243 for its versatility for coyotesm, sheep, and deer, i want it to be a easy grab and go rifle and easy to carry i have narrowed it down to either a browning a-bolt,weatherby vagaurd,cz550 euro lux, or a tikka t-3 which would you choose and why? oh and i have held all 4 and realy like all 4.

ps these are my favorite hard choices:confused:

i haven't handled the others, but I'm really happy with my T3 SS lite 243. no handloading for accuracy yet cuz i haven't started that hobby yet (newb alert ), but it groups cheap factory Federal 100gr Powershoks at 1.75" at 300 yds. the action is very smooth. no recoil. lightweight. nice trigger. and the plastic parts dont bother me at all. found a new 5-shot spare mag on ebay for $65USD. also put a new VX-III into some Optilocks....overall i'm very happy with it.

tikkas employ all sorts of production shortcuts and still cost an arm and a leg (good marketing?). I would hesitate to pick one up, but if you like them, go for it.

The Tikka T3 lite S/S is a fantastic little rifle. I had one for a couple years which I bought used at a local gun shop. It shot just about any bullet well and was great to carry. The 55 grain BT was the fastest of my custom rounds but rarely used as it didn't buck wind very well and would certainly shorten barrel life at ove 4000 FPS. The S/S finish of the Tikka is nice and dull. Never an issue with feeding from the single stack mag nor did the mag ever drop out unexpectedly. Scoping the 243 Win really needs something like a 4-12 not to limit yourself as the 6mm bullets are very capable of LR shooting past 400 yards.
