What was the model that had a piece on the lower front you could push against something to work the action? I remember they were for sale up to about 10 years ago? And what model are they copying? Thanks all!

The one that came to the rest of the world was the 77B - different calibre than the original (9mm vs. 7.62x17) and bigger all round. The 'B' isn't officially issued in the PRC by any entity, but it helps sell pistols to call it the "Chinese Police Pistol", It's an interesting - though not exactly original design, the front of the trigger guard can be pulled back to retract the slide and chamber a round. The gun is carried in Condition 3.

I sold a couple of them, strange thing, Don't know as I ever shot them, but I remember that was a hell of a pull to cycle with your fingers.
ugly looking little beast, Seem to remember them being cheap, but I would have to check that.
Circa 2003, so a bit longer than 10yrs, kind of like wife's birthdays, it gets foggy with time, and if you have a brain, shut up.

I found a description of the 77B at modernfirearms.net. Below I have pasted a section from there .

To safely handle powerful 9mm cartridges, M 77B pistol uses a gas retarded (delayed) blowback action with fixed barrel. Overall gas system is similar to one found in H&K P7 PSP pistol, with the gas cylinder, located under the barrel, and the gas piston, connected to the slide

That is what happens with old age , I totally forget that part, I was thinking of the cocking system, as I said before, I never shot one, guess I should have tried one out.

I owned one for a brief time. Horrid sights and finish. Working the slide with the trigger guard is actually pretty difficult, I couldn't imagine trying to do it under stress. I sold it for what I paid and it moved fairly quick.
