I am trying to find a source in Ontario for 16g target loads for skeet. I have been able to find upland loads, but nothing for skeet. Any help would be appreciated.

Lawry's is showing Federal game load ounce #8 at 1165 fps, probably your best choice.
Remington has a similar load.

Lawry's will order either the Federal Game Shock, Remington Game Loads, or Rio Game Load all available in #8 shot, They have ordered all of the above for me before without issue, typically takes about a month or 2 to arrive.
I think they have the Federal in stock

I have had no luck finding target loads for the 16. I ended up ordering Remington 1 oz.Game Loads in 7.5 from Prophet River. The shipping adds to it but after that and tax it ends up around $200 for a case of 10 boxes and they perform well.
They also have Rio in 16 for a couple of dollars more.

I bought some of these loads from Prophet River, and they work well on clays, and on birds. Recoil is much lighter than the Fiocchi 1-1/8 ounce loads, out of my 6-1/4 lb SxS with solid wood butt plate.

I like the Federal game load better than the Remington.
Hard to find a good 1 ounce load for the Federal hulls without an overshot wad or cheerio filler.
Prophet River is my nearest source

2 1/2 gamebores blow 'em up reel good. If you can find them. For some reason these fibre wad she'll just work.

I decided to reload for 16 ga about 5 years ago. I found an old guy at my club that had an older MEC single stage loader, components and hulls . Humason's has the wads and your set. I load 3/4oz using a claybuster 7/8oz wad for skeet. It works well. I would say the only problem is finding hulls. I'm allway's talking it up at the club and you would be suprised sometimes a guy will have some old 16ga shells in his basement. I shoot a fair amount of 16ga at skeet.

Some great information here. Thanks.

For those of you who reload, how did you get started? Did someone show you the ropes, read a book, YouTube, etc. I would like to reload for 16g, but not really sure how to get started or what I need.

Buy 5th Edition(latest) Lyman shotshell reloading handbook. Read and digest the general loading instructions.

16 gauge reloading has a sub-culture all it's own.
Refer to 16ga.com and 16 gauge Yahoo group for lots more info. Also 16 gauge info from Balliatic products.

A Lee Loadall is pretty minimal loader, but I use one.
A MEC 600 JR in 16 gauge would be a step up. Finding components for Euro hulls or straight walled hulls in 16 gauge in Canada is a bit challenging. Bilozir in Alberta stocks some.

Thanks for the tips. Would the Lee Loadall suffice for reloading a few hundred shells a year? I do have access to an older MEC 600 Jr, but I would need the 16g conversion kit, new bottles and ????.

I am visit 16ga.com occasionally and have started doing some reading in the reloading section.
