Canadian Armys "Interm Pistol Program"

Why not go with the CZ 75 B it’s all steel, very accurate, indestructible, and considered to be one off the best pistols ever, in bulk they could probably be purchased for 500 per unit.
How many pistols would the CF need in total to implement a complete replacement/ upgrade ?

Laugh2 Laugh2 Laugh2

Cz are fairly fragile guns. They make excellent competitive guns, all steel is nothing to brag about, it also means it's heavier than it needs to be.

I can't comment on the new cz glock copy, but the 75s are not known for their toughness.

It's interim as Liberals decide how they can make sleazy backroom deals and get paid off twice.

The HPs were cracking decades ago. We can figure out how to get a new gun every payday. The 'experts', well, never.

This is what makes me laugh about civilian businesses who advertise their product as "military grade" as if that means it is going to be quality. All that means to anyone who has any connection to the CAF is that "military grade" must mean bottom of the barrel garbage made by the lowest bidder.

Yep, and Ford with their so called military grade aluminum in their new trucks. Guess they figure the average consumer is impressed with this kind of false advertising.

The only high quality “military grade” stuff I saw when I was in the military was the training and we looked after that ourselves.

To be fair, only Canadian military consistently buys junk from other countries. From old subs that caught fire to worn out Aussie F18s to this.

Meanwhile, French army is enjoying their spanking new HK416s.

Yup you have countries like Norway and Australia where general issue helmet is Ops Core. Norway general issue plate carriers and stuff are Tyr Tactical, they also use HK416.

If anyone here thinks the Liberal Gov't is ever going to support the military they are either incredibly stupid or simply unaware of this countries political history. Canada has a long history of sending our troops into harms way with junk for equipment. It likely predates the Ross rifle scandals of WW1.

Take Care

Yep, don't know when our govt started buying second hand cast offs but it's been going on for quite some time.

The HMCS Bonaventure we bought for the Canadian Navy in the 50's was another second hand purchase. The aircraft carrier was initially ordered for construction by Britain's Royal Navy as HMS Powerful during the Second World War. Following the end of the war, construction on the ship was halted and it was not until 1952 that work began once again, this time to an altered design for the Royal Canadian Navy. The ship entered service in 1957 renamed Bonaventure.

There's no favoritism here as all three services have been saddled with second hand junk over the years.

There were veterans who backed the Turd to 'stop Harper'.

As I said it is one or the other or more likely both. To paraphrase Sir Winston: Anyone under the age of 30 who doesn't vote Liberal has no heart...anyone over the age of 30 who votes Liberal has no brains. He may have said head instead of brains.

There are people who failed basic training and never were employed in a trade in their entire military career and they identify themselves as veterans, so maybe that doesn't hold much value as we like to think. An unfortunate result of glorifying mediocrity maybe

Oh don't kid your self...

Their are plenty of vets with 30+ years of service that are die hard libs, some are MPs in the liberal ranks as we speak.

Yep, a navigator that I flew with in the Airforce is now an Ottawa based Liberal MP. You just don’t know how some people think.

I know a few RCMP members who always vote Liberal because they get better pay increases than from Conservatives.

In 1957 there were lots of warships that had been completed during WWII and had been in service ever since, with useful life still ahead of them. A hull from that era that wasn't used until 1957 wasn't worn out, and finishing the ship from 1952 to 1957 made it at least somewhat more modern. Not such a bad deal, was it?
