My “New” Remington Custom Shop Titanium 700 308win

I splurged and had the rifle of my dreams custom built.
Built by “Dakota Arms” (Remington Custom Shop) in Sturgis, South Dakota.

This rifle is loosely based on the Ultimate Sheep Rifle built by late Jason Hairston “founder of KUIU ultralight hunting”
There is a video online of his rifle being built in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Custom Shop had to get permission from Remington head office to see if they were allowed to build this gun for me and not infringe on any patents. I didn’t want any KUIU branding and some different features etc.

Specs of this build.

-Blueprinted Remington 700 Titanium Action
-.312 Titanium Recoil Lug
-Deep spiral fluted bolt
-Triple pinned and timed bolt handle with Alberta Tactical mini tactical bolt knob
-Aluminum bolt shroud and Aluminum firing pin assembly
-Dual ejectors with M-16 extractor
-20” Light Sendero match grade Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrel. 1:10 twist
-Chambered in 308 Winchester
-Custom muzzle break and threaded protector cap with same fluted design
-Aluminum bottom metal and floor plate
-Metal parts are Cerakoted Titanium Grey
-Stock: Manners Elite series EH-8 Carbon Fiber. Aluminum pillars and Epoxy bedded with Marine Tex. Painted black with grey splatter
-2 sling studs
-Timney 520 Calvin Elite Trigger set at 2.5 lbs

1/2 MOA Guarantee. This rifle was scoped and test fired at the factory. Test targets provided proving such accuracy. Ammunition used was Factory Load Barnes Vor-Tx 168gr TTSX

Weight: 5lbs-6oz

I need scope suggestions. Looking for light weight, short over all length. With the best glass and options.

Sure is a pretty looking shooting iron you have there !
How long from conception to receiving it did it take ?
Leupold Ultra Lite, but they are not in production anymore , so dont know what to suggest:(
Congrats and Thank You for sharing.
Rob

Very nice!
I realy like the vx5hd line with the zl2 turret. Just wish I could have a moar retical in it. I run a 3-15x44 very useful power range for a hunting scope, and pretty decent glass.

Yes, very nice rifle!
If you don't mind sharing, what did it cost? And how long did it take to receive after ordering?
Have been thinking of a similar build in a left handed rifle.

Scope suggestions:
An older Leupold VX-3 in 2.5-8x36 B&C or an older Swarovski 3-9x36 with TDS reticle (or a Kahles in the same configuration); both great scopes shorter in length, less than a pound and great glass, with the reticles for instant target acquisition and hashmarks for yardages, without a need to dial or redial a turret. JMHO

Congrats on doing what we all wish to do, another vote for leupold, I have a rem titanium with a vx6 1-6, does all I need, nice and compact, great glass, groups well at 300yds, never shot further, but 6x is more then enough for a lot of hunting,

Beauty build leapy are great maybe compact in 3-9 or even Swarovski 3-9 or 3-10 or zeiss 2.5-10 another one. O so many choices to complete a great build. Best of luck
