I am «#new#» here, just I have aquestion, where can one find a Russian Army (or others) Makarov?
Are there any dealers or members here who know that or can help me in that long quest...

Thanks

I've found Makarovs are relatively hard to find, compared to most other russian stuff that's legal for us to acquire.

If I had to guess, it'd be because of the barrel length laws. Most Makarovs have a barrel of 93mm, under the required length of 105mm. I have seen them with legal length barrels though, so they are available, if rare.

I'm not sure if you have access to the the exchange forum, if not,do so. There was a run of Canadian legal Baikal makarovs brought in some years ago (2011-12?) and they come up now and then. Sanctions or something means they can't be brought in at this time, so be prepared to pay a premium. and jump on it quick if one shows up. They sure are a fun little gun, even with the barrel sticking out the front.

Not many restricted ones available at this time. There are some in .380 with the proper length barrel but no more can be brought into Canada due to the embargo on things Russian. Anyone who owns a Makarov usually holds onto it as they are great little pistols.

I had one and it was fun to shoot, but 9x18 isn't fun to buy in Canada. I was reloading 9mm brass to 9x18, but honestly reloading isn't enjoyable for me. Great pistols though, good luck on your quest.

My quest for one was very long :) I don't have 12 license and restricted are rare and people usually don't sell them. I recently scored East German one, got Soviet grips from Russia for it :)

This is one good looking PM sir!
I got to PM as close as newly manufactured Baikal I picked up a few years ago.
Too bad that tradex is running low on cheap 9x18 ammo.

I sold mine years ago and regretted it ever since :( It was a fantastic gun and very accurate too for it's size.

Mak's are under rated and deserve way more resect than they get.

There was for sale on EE couple of days ago, too bad I missed it, been trying to find one for a long time now. Worst thing is, I remember seeing Baikals on retailer's web site for aroud 500 bucks but I didnt buy one.

I have owned E German, Bulgarian, and Chinese Makarov examples. The E German was the nicest finished, and the Bulgarian was the worst. I kept the Chinese version, which is comparatively rare.
